Convertible Car Seat Recommendations
DS is almost 8 months old and I it's time we move him into the convertible car seat. When we originally registered, we decided on the Britax Marathon. Now that it's actually time to decide on one, I can't remember why we had decided on the Marathon.
Anyway, looking for suggestions, feedback, etc on which convertible you're using and why. Thanks in advance!!

Just purchased an evenflo Symphony DLX and I love it! We also looked at the Britax.. the cost was about the same.. I am very happy with my choice.

We like the Diono Radian. It is very narrow and safe.

Why'd you chose the Symphony over the Marathon?
TIA!

Re: Convertible Car Seat Recommendations
make sure you look at the height and weight limitations. if your ds is on the bigger side (like mine) he may grow out of certain car seats sooner. i bought my kids graco size4me which should last for a long time. chicco nextfit and diono radian were my runners up.

We have the Britax Advocate - from what I read it is the safest convertible car seat - it has the extra side protection.

We have the Britax Marathon and I love it. My sister recomended it when I was registering so that's what I went with.

Re: Convertible Car Seat Recommendations
I have the Marathon which I love. Its doesn't take up to much room and VERY easy to use. Straps, and installment.
I also have the Graco MYRide which I HATE. The seat is huge. It didn't even fit in my dh's new Pathfinder and it's a big car. The buckle is VERY hard, and in order to adjust starps you have to take it out and re-thread it. VERY annoying. (I'm in the minority here on LIF about this seat) but compared to the Britax its annoying.
You also have to take into consideration your car. Like I said some seats are much bigger and don't fit properly.

So here we go with the proper answer -- Nobody that answered here is correct because not enough information has been given.
You all are correct and you all are wrong.
So to the original post.
How old is your child (which you gave), what make model and year is your car.
For the most part the seat you purchased is the best one that has been listed. The Marathon fits every car. The Evenflo cannot fit properly in a number of cars and the Radian will not work well in some upper end cars.

I would not choose the Symphony over a Marathon for the majority of cars on the road.

Convertible Car Seat Recommendations
I just got the pavillion and am happy with it. Will let you know with more use. I have a mid size car and it fits fine. I originally registered for the marathon but changed my mind mostly because of safety features offered on pavillion. And a lot of the girls on here posted the ease of use of the pav.

The pavilion is a nice seat also, but I will give my final recommendation once all the facts of the car are in.

And what about the Advocate?
The Advocate is a great seat, however I do not recommend it over the Marathon or Boulevard due the the increased width of the seat. In some cars this width comes into play. That said, I will repeat, it is a great seat.
As far as the last post about the Evenflo seat, unless I know the car involved I do not recommend it. Close to 90% of car seats are not installed properly and the Evenflo is one that I have seen a lot of installation problems due to car compatibility. This is more true of the seat is rear facing.

2003 is an older vehicle and is the second tear LATCH was required. Stick with the Marathon that you already have - it will need to be rear facing on the passenger side.
