Bathing 14 Month Old

My 14 month old DD loves to be in the tub, but she hates having her hair washed and rinsed. As soon as I put any water on her head, she fights me, crawls away and stands up! I have tried everything I can think of to get her to sit, but she doesn't cooperate and the water always gets in her face. I hold the washcloth on her forehead to try to catch the water before it gets in her eyes, but she still fights me and it is so hard to deal with this every night! Any suggestions of anything I can try?

Honestly my husband still.holds my daughter on his lap. He lays her ob his lap with her head over the tub and i wash her hair. She would never sit still long enough for me to wash her hairnif i was alone.

we have this foam duck with a mirror that sticks to the wall... I put it up there when i'm trying to rinse her hair, so she's looking up. I don't try to hold her down, I just let her be free, and as she's trying to get the mirror, the water rinses off the back of her head. kwim? maybe you could get those foam alphabet letters etc that stick to the wall and try that?

Re: Bathing 14 Month Old

My 4 yr old still hates getting his hair washed. I do it fast and have a towel to wipe his eyes dry right after. Of course he's better at holding his head back now, but there's not too much to do. There's times I stopped giving him the warning I was going to wash his hair and just did it. Was so quick and then directed him till he forgot.
Just do hair first and fast them soap and then the bots play. My 2 yr old has no issues getting his face wet.
She's too young, but what helps with us now is he takes swim lessons and they do a splash game at the end so I also say its the game.

My DH is rarely home at bath time so I'm usually on my own. Maybe I can try this over the weekend when he's around.

Ugh! I just want to wash her hair! So frustrating - She was so easy in the infant tub!

That's a good idea. I have the letters, I'll try putting them up higher.
