Bouncing off of another topic about prenatal vitamins.

Which brand do you use and which would you recommend?

Re: Prenatal Vitamins

I started taking the gummy pre-natals and took these for like 6 months. When I went to the RE she switched me to a pre-natal with more vitamin D because my levels were really low. It is Theralogix brand.

i take the cvs brand of prenatals (with the DHA pill). my doctor told me not to take gummies bc it doesnt have the same nutritional makeup. i dont recall what she said was missing from the gummies, but if you compare them side by side you will see

I am taking the Rainbow Light one-a-day prental vitamins and LOVE them. I ordered them off Amazon -- 150 pills per bottle.

Pros
- only have to take one pill a day
- completely food based ingredients
- does not make my stomach upset at all (and I have taken them BEFORE eating breakfast in the AM)

Cons
- the pill is a bit large

I also ordered the Rainbow Light DHA supplements which are supposed to be great for early cognitive development -- these were a bit more expensive and only have 60 pills per bottle but I thought it was worth it given all the great reviews. Unlike other DHA pills I have taken, these are not fishy at ALL and have orange oil in them -- they taste citrusy :)

Hope that helps!

Re: Prenatal Vitamins

The gummies have no iron. I took them, my dr said they were fine, I became anemic. I loved the gummies because I had such bad ms I couldn't swallow pills. Now I take Bellybar chewable (order through drugstore.com) which have iron and an extra chewable Iron with vitamin C.

Re: Prenatal Vitamins

Targets up & up brand. I took the same for both previous pregnancies and liked them.

I took Woman's Once A Day or something like that while TTC. Once I got pregnant, I was given a script for Vitafol-one

I took an extra iron supplement and I was fine... while pregnant I ended up needing to take Colace. It was fine.

Prior to TTC the first time I continued with my multi and took an extra folic acid. Made the switch to a prenatal when I finished the multi.
