Re: Red blood cells in urine?
I actually just had that last month. There was no infection, so they did a CT scan and saw a small stone, so concluded it was probably a previous stone that I didn't feel.
My dad had it too & they jut had him come back in a few weeks & no blood cells showed in the urine test, so they said he was fine & was probably also a stone.

Red blood cells in urine?
I have it too and had to go to a urologist, had a CAT scan that showed nothing, and now I have to go for a cystoscopy and a hidrodistension procedure next week to "explore further". I had a UTI that needed 2 rounds of antibiotics to resolve, did 5 days of cipro and still had pain, but up in the bladder... I took macrodantin for 7 days and that did the trick but now the dr wants to make sure I don't have a tumor in there, sometimes they are missed by CAT scans...
It could mean nothing, my mom always has blood in her urine. I guess better to be safe than sorry. Good luck!

Red blood cells in urine?
Thanks everyone for your responses! The dr suggested that the urine test be repeated next month since the last physical urine test was normal and then we will go from there.

Re: Red blood cells in urine?
My mom and I both have this. We were both told for some people it's just normal. For me I first discovered it 3 years ago at a routine dr appt and since then been to a urologist, had a sonogram of my kidneys and bladder, and concluded it's nothing. Every single time I get my urine checked (now I get it done weekly at the OB!) I always have to remind them that for me it's just normal!
