Protein in Urine **UPDATE**

I have plus 1 protein in my urine and now my dr sent me to Quest to have a 24 urine collection done. I have been drinking a ton of water and my urine is still very dark..which makes me worry that I indeed have an infection in my system. They don't believe it is pre-clampsia because my blood pressure is normal. Going back to Quest tomorrow for them to draw up the blood and drop off the container. Has anyone gone through this before?

UPDATE- 7/16/13

My culture came back with high amounts of protein in my urine. My bp was slightly elevated 130/70. They are saying I have a mild case of Pre-Clampsia. I have an apt with the Dr. tomorrow and will ask more questions. I am at 33 1/2 weeks. Told me to drink lots of water and keep my feet elevated and get as much sleep as possible..kind of difficult these days. I am trying to keep my twins to stay in just a little bit longer. The longer the better. Hopefully things will get better from here on out!!!

I had to do that also but it turned out to be ok. Its a pain in the neck. I dont have any advice just wishing you luck

you dont need high blood pressure to have pre-e, i didnt. high blood pressure was the only symptom i didnt have.

i had to do the 24 hour and my protein came back 3x the normal amount and then i was admitted to the hospital for pre-e and delivered a few days later when it worsened to HELLP syndrome. how many weeks are you?

Been through it several times. The very last time I did a 24 hr test, they called me and said it's time to have the baby!

i had 1+ proteinuria persistently throughout the third trimester. My 24hr urines were always just above normal but since it didnt get any worse and my labs were normal I was not induced early. I hope you get to bake the babes a little longer!

I had protein in my urine my entire pregnancy, beginning very early on, and it never resulted in any issues. They just monitored me.

Good luck. If you can lay down on your left side, and rest with your feet up. Drink plenty of water and avoid salty foods. I had pre-e with my son, but not my daughter. Good luck!

Thanks! I am still waiting for the results! Probably won't here anything till Monday. I am starting to feel a bit better..been drinking lots of water and resting with my feet elevated with 3 pillows!!!

Thanks so do i!!! My dr wants me to come in earlier tonight..so hopefully I get more answers! Def need to stay in there longer!!!
