Anyone told they have protein in urine?
I went to my dr on Friday bc I was having headaches.
BP ranged from 140s-160s/80s and urine came back + for trace protein.
They sent me to Labor and Delivery and of corse there my BP was normal
They sent labs for pre-eclampsia and they came back normal except for + protein in urine. So they sent me home.
Now for the past 24 hours I have had a bad headache again.
I wanted to know if anyone has protein in urine that they didnt really do anything for or that didnt mean anything.
I am guessing I should call my dr again in the am about these headaches too right??

Re: Anyone told they have protein in urine?
Towards the end of my pregnancy I had 2 instances where I had protein in my urine. They had me to the 24hr. collection and everything came fine. No pre-eclampsia and no problems. My DD was born healthy and perfect at 39 weeks.
Edit - I didn't have headaches though.

Re: Anyone told they have protein in urine?
I had protein in my urine, but it wasn't until I was in labor that it happened. That combined with my heartbeat skyrocketing, they were worried that I'd go into pre-eclamplsia seizures...so I was put on a magneseum drip.

same here..except baby is not here yet!
also, things were off in my urine and by 37 weeks the doctor told me that it was the Strep B virus that was coming up in my urine so he didn't have to do the swab test for it since it was in the urine. the protein in my urine was low though and my BP has been on the low end the whole pregnancy and i have not had any headaches.

Re: Anyone told they have protein in urine?
I had horrible headaches from week 25 until delivery. I saw spots, halos, had double vision, ended up loosing some peripheral vision...I had plus 2 protein in my urine after the 24 hour urine test and my BP was only high once. They put me on strict left side only for the remainder of my PG. I was able to go full term at 39 weeks. FM if you have any questions. Good luck!

Re: Anyone told they have protein in urine?
I had protein in my urine almost my whole PG with DS. I then started getting headaches and swelling. My OB made me get the 24 hr urine test. My BP was high too and at 6 months I was put on bedrest. Be carefil and take it easy. This is when I developed Pre eclampsia.

Re: Anyone told they have protein in urine?
Trace protein is not pre-e. I had trace, crazy high bp's, headaches, floaters, SOB.. all the symptoms but, the labs never "confirmed" pre-eclampsia. So it was called Gestational hypertension. I did have to be induced because my pressure got really high. (diastolic over 110). Be careful and call the doctor as symptoms progress. Mine wound up fine for delivery but, got much worse after and now I am on meds for bp and increased heart rate. It can get bad quickly and is so not something to take lightly. Your doc should really be doing a 24 hour urine. The way it was explained to me was that one "dip" doesn't give the whole picture as uring protein can fluctuate throughout the day. It is important to know what your total protein over a 24 hour period is.
