BTDT: Traveling during pregnancy....
DH and I are going on a 1 year anniversary trip/babymoon to Bermuda this week. (My OB approved Bermuda.) I haven't been worried at all, but now that we leave in a day, all of a sudden I'm worried about flying, eating, etc. Anything I should keep in mind while traveling? I appreciate any tips!

BTDT: Traveling during pregnancy....
Flying is fine when pregnant... They only warn you about being in the 3rd trimester just in case baby comes early- you don't want to be stuck on a plane!! I flew twice and the only thing I wasn't sure about was going through security- the airports have that x-ray machine now but they also have the other one that is just a metal detector as an option. I chose to go in that one because I wasn't sure about the x-ray. I'm sure it's fine but I was just being cautious.
Just drink a lot of water and don't overdo it in the heat. Bring a high SPF to protect your skin because it's more sensitive when pregnant. If you're walking anywhere have comfy shoes. Relax and enjoy yourself!! Have fun

I flew a bunch of times. I did not go through any of the metal/X-ray machines. It's a little invasive but when u get to the front you can request a pat down. It's over your clothes but they feel u up lol basically. They may try to talk you out of it but I would not back down. Stay hydrated and trust ur body...when it says relax listen and relax
Have a blast!

Thanks ladies! Do you think I need to be careful with food- ie. milk, cheese, etc. maybe I can just ask if its pasteurized.

Milk should be fine just since it would be obvious if they werent pasterized. but be careful of the cheeses.

We went to Bermuda and the Bahamas when I was 12/13 weeks pregnant a few years ago. All I can say is make sure you stay hydrated and ALWAYS know where the bathroom is - and make sure you don't go far from it!

Haha yes, I will invest in water bottles down there! :). Where did you stay, PennyCat?

I'm flying to South Carolina tomorrow at 31 weeks.
Make sure you are hydrated and get up to stretch your legs frequently on the flight (no issue there for me since my 3 yr old has to pee every 10 minutes!)
Be careful in the sun as your skin is more sensitive when pregnant and drink a ton of liquids.
Make sure you take breaks from the sun either in a breezy, shady spot or in the AC.
Have a great time!

I went to Disney World when I was almost 6 months PG with DS. It was actually freezing down there (February). Had no issues with flying, eating or anything. Went through the metal detectors as normal.

Re: BTDT: Traveling during pregnancy....
I just flew this week, at 33 weeks, and I'm a high-risk pregnancy. It was only FL and my OB was fine with it. Our flight was only 2 hrs so no biggie. I wasn't uncomfortable or even worried. I walked through the metal detectors but not the body scanners. I was always automatically moved to where they had just a metal detector, probaly bc we were also traveling with our 3yo.
I agree that you will want to stay hydrated and depending on the length of your flight you will want to get up just to walk a bit. Have fun!!
At 33 weeks I'm still having fun; we have taken 3 mini-trips in the last 2 weeks
