1st bottle/wakeup of the day getting earlier & earlier?? advice PLEASE!
Dd is 8 months. Since about 6 months she's been sttn... she goes down at 630. She was waking about 545, taking a bottle and going back down until 7-745. 545 became 530, 515, 5, 445... that was my cutoff. Now there are times she'll wake 3-4am. I feel like we're going backwards and i refuse to give her a bottle that early bc i know she doesnt need it and i don't want her now getting a motn feeding, essentially. Is there anything i could/should be doing other than basically cio? I just feel like on these nights, now we're both awake for an hour or two unnecessarily and im not sure what i should or shouldnt be doing. It's not every night and im very consistent with her bedtime, so it has no correlation with that. Tia for any help you can offer!

If you are ok with it I would do CIO. It is becoming a habit. It's not for everyone but that is what I would do.

Have you tried putting her to bed later?

I agree with this. She might need a little less sleep as she gets older. Around 9mo DD went from 11.5 to 10 hours at night.

Maybe try letting her eat/drink a little more before she goes to bed for the night. If she takes a pacifier, maybe you can give it to her when she wakes up and try rubbing her back a little in hopes she'll fall back asleep. Try putting her to bed a little later and/or changing nap times, or maybe even dropping one of her naps altogether. Could also just be that she's about to pop a tooth or have a growth spurt. Those things always messed with DS sleep.

Yes... if i put her to bed later, she wakes a lot during the night & still at the same time in the morning. Plus, she is much harder to put to bed. She is a CRAB all evening and she wants to go to bed, when she wants. Ive tried 7pm bedtime to see a difference. She is not a great napper, has never been. She gets 1-2hrs of daytime sleep at most. No matter when she wakes for her bottle, she still winds up with about 12hrs... when i do cio with her at 3 or 4am... she winds up sleeping until 8-830 instead of 7-730 to make up for it. I do the cio bc i didnt know what else to do... last night she was crying/whining etc 3-445 then slept until 530. Gave her bottle and she was back down 6-8am no problem.

she takes 7oz some nights before bed and 10oz other nights and it doesnt impact what time she wakes, ive noticed. and shes already only taking 2 naps a day i do go in when she wakes to turn on her seahorse & reposition her etc so she knows its time to go back to sleep... she doesnt seem to care lol

Re: 1st bottle/wakeup of the day getting earlier & earlier?? advice PLEASE!
After doing a ton of research and sleepwork with my girls, I strongly disagree with putting her to bed later. In fact, my girls sleep later when I put them to bed earlier. Sleep begets sleep. If you know she doesn't need a bottle and is not hungry, I wouldn't give it to her. On one twin, I did Ferber when she woke in the MOTN and it worked like a charm. It didn't work on my other twin but she STTN without a problem. Her issue is getting to sleep.
Good luck, when the wakeups get earlier, it's SO HARD!

1st bottle/wakeup of the day getting earlier & earlier?? advice PLEASE!
My DS did that a while back (he is 11 mo). If it was before 5am I would let him CIO and he went back down. This went on for a couple of days and he finally stopped. He now wakes up at 5:30 has a bottle and goes back to bed. Most mornings now he wakes up at 6:30. It will get better.

that is exactly dd. if it's 4:45 or later, I will give her a bottle, and she will go right back down. if it's before 4:45, I let her cio... I just didn't know if maybe I should be doing something different. the other day, I just happened to peek in & check on her at 3am - and there she is, playing with her wubbanub in her crib she then went back to sleep until a bottle at 6am... it's just bizarre lol
