According to L&D I'm only in early labor...

Yesterday the contractions where 10 minutes apart ALL DAY!!! I didn't even have to look at a clock because they seriously were like clockwork. At dinner they stopped for about an hour and then a little after dinner they picked up again but were stronger. As time went on they got stronger and were eventually 5 minutes apart. I called my doctor and they told me "if you think you need to go to the hospital then go". Gee, thanks for the direction doc.

So finally I was in tears because the pain was bad and the contractions seemed to just be 4-5 minutes apart but lasting about 1.5 minutes. I text my sister who is usually telling me "it's normal" or "don't go to L&D, you don't need to yet" and she called me back right away. I was in so much pain DH had to speak to her and she wasn't really her usual self. She told me to go to L&D and call her when we know what's going on (she lives in Jersey and is our 2nd coach so she's 1st priority on getting to the hospital).

So they hooked me up to the monitors and asked if I wanted pain killers. I told them the pain was between at 7 and 8 and I wanted to hold off as long as possible before taking anything for pain. So it turns out I'm having contractions like I said, am 1cm dilated, and 70% effaced but my cervix is really long still. They told me I was in "early labor" and sent me home. I'm still in pain and contracting but nothing like last night. Hoping the cervix gets shorter soon and we can get the ball rolling. This is the 4th time I've been to L&D (only the 1st time for contractions though) so we're getting really tired of going there. They told me I probably just have a "sensitive uterus" and that's why the pain is so high.

Hopefully labor continues and this baby boy comes out soon!!! I just need to dilate more and the cervix to short...here's hoping!!!!

I was contracting every 10 minute or so and 3cm dilated for about 2-3 weeks before I actually went into labor at 41 weeks + 2 days. The contractions were very timeable during that time but not horribly painful till the day my true labor started. I hope you go soon but remember sometimes the body just prepares for labor for a while (its practicing hehe) You'll know true labor because you won't want/be able to eat, talk, or sit still through the contractions. The day of actual labor I also had quite a bit of bleeding starting very early in the morning and the contractions moved from menstrual type cramps to total back labor which felt v.v. different and intense. How annoying!!!! You are so close! I bet you are having that baby very soon!!!!!!!! Can't wait for the next update!!!!

Your labor sounds exactly what i went thru with my dd.
5 am contractions started 10 mins apart by 10 started to b about 5 mins apart n painful!! I called dr they said go to labor n delivery. I was in extreme but i came to find out i was only 2 cm!!! They said i could stay or labor at home. The nurse told me to have red wine to calm down n i did but nothin worked. I labored at home from 3 pm till finally at 12 am i couldnt do it anymore. When i went back i was only 3 cm!! Wtf!! But my water broke at hospital so i was staying! From that moment on it went soo quick n my dd was born in the am. So it seems like ur almost there... Labor at home.. Go for a walk around the block, drink red wine n u will kno it's go time!Good luck

I'm still having the contractions and now it's Sunday. I'm laboring at home as long as possible because I REFUSE to go back to the hospital again and be sent home. They didn't give me the option to stay or go. They told me since my cervix was still high that I was to go home. I'm just REALLY hoping it's soon!!!! Tonight is the Super Moon so we will see, although my 2 sisters and my SIL are all out of town right now so it would be TERRIBLE timing but it is what it is and I would MUCH rather him come out LOL!

Red wine actually is given to patients to stop labor. Well to stop false labor. If it's real labor then it won't do anything. I've been drinking red wine all pregnancy and my sister told me if I want the contractions to slow down to have some wine...HELL NO! HAHA! I'm just going to ride this out and hope that something happens soon. I have my weekly dr appt tomorrow and I'm HOPING she says that I progessed and I get go to the hospital now, but nothing is EVER THAT easy!!!
