I'm in early labor- update!
Around 5pm yesterday I started feeling cramping- it came and went. This morning at 5am they started coming every 5 minutes- but only lasting 30 seconds. We went to the Dr and he said I am 1cm dilated and 60% effaced. The baby is doing well with the contractions. So, he wants to admit me tomorrow morning and start pitocin but when he calls this evening I'm going to ask if we can wait till Thursday morning to see if I progress on my own.
contractions are still 5 minutes apart and only 30 seconds- no progress and DH and I walked around like crazy today.
Anyway, hopefully the Dr won't make me go to the hospital tomorrow morning- he's supposed to call us in an hour- I'd like to try and avoid pitocin.....
Update- thanks so much for the support ladies! 
spoke to Dr. at 8pm and he said he wouldn't be in the office on Wed so I HAVE to go to the hopsital at 5am to be monitored but if there is no progress I can refuse pitocin- but he would prefer if I get it because he has appts on Thursday!  
Anyway, it's 3:30am now and my contractions are BAD! Still 5 minutes apart but they are SO intense I am nearly biting on DH's hand and begging for help- so, maybe he will come on his own today- we'll see! If you don't see me post later today it probably means he is on his way for real! If not, I'll keep you posted!

Good luck! I contracted like that for a full day before going into full labor. Hopefully, he will let you progress on your own.
