God Parent advice and question
For my SS and DD we chose family members. SIL is godmother and my brother is godfather for my DD. For this DC, my husband wants to pick his friend for godfather. Unfortunately , my BFF is in noooo situation to be chosen for a god parent. It breaks my heart but I just cant do it. Its bad. There is only 1 other friend I would pick for a god parent but I couldn't pick her without offending my BFF and 2 other friends. So back to family, lol. I have no sisters, my DH has only the 1 sister we picked for other kids. So heres my question, what age limit (if any) do you have for picking god parents? I have a very religious aunt who never had the opportunity to have children and although is a liitle cooky at times, has a huge heart and is a wonderful person, but....she is in her 60's. Is that absurd? I don't have a clue what to do.

Re: God Parent advice and question
hmm that's tough. I don't think there's anything wrong with asking an older person but I can see the concern.
Do you have any female cousins? Or does he have any female cousins?

Re: God Parent advice and question
No age limit its not like in the past where if something happened to both parents the god parents would be "responsible" I say if you are good with that go for it!

No age limit. For 1st DS we picked my SIL (DH's twin sister) and her DH. For this DS, we picked DH's best friend and my aunt, who will be almost 63 when DS is born.

God Parent advice and question
No age limit. All Godparents do is to guide the child in their faith should the parents pass when the child is young. They don't have to raise your kid or anything, just be there to answer questions about their spirituality and be a role model.
I think your Aunt would be honored!!
