God Parent Question...HELP!!!
We are expecting boy/girl twins and are having a really hard time here. We picked Godparents my DH sister and her hubby and decided to make them godparents of our daughter because she is the first girl in DH's family since my sister in law was born 26 years ago so we thought that would be exciting and special to her. Now for our son we have DH's two brothers and my sister. Does anyone know if that is even allowed??? Can we have two godfathers and a godmother for one child? My sister is my youngest sister and only one I have not had as a godparent for one of my children yet but she never made her confirmation so I know she would only be considered a "witness" so I am wondering if that is like a loophole I could use here to have all 3???

i dont think that is possible. I know one has to be a girl and one has to be a guy, and I dont think you can have more then one of each.

Re: God Parent Question...HELP!!!
Is it a Catholic baptism? In the Catholic Church, the only way around this would be if one of the godparents is not Catholic. In that case, you could have the Catholic be the godfather/mother and the non-Catholic (but must still be Christian) godfather/mother be a "witness."
My godmother (technically "witness") is Protestant, and my godfather (technically "witness") is Christian Science. My Grandfather (Roman Catholic) stood as my godfather (since neither witness was Catholic, we needed one Catholic). Therefore, in a way, I do have 3 godparents...but it's because of the circumstances.
If this isn't a Catholic Church, I'm not sure.

If this is a Catholic baptism, only two Godparents are allowed. Why don't you have your SIL and BIL be GP for your DD and have your sister and other BIL be the GP for your DS? Leave out SIL's hubby and then all of the siblings would be covered.

I agree leave out the BIL and just cover the immediate family.

I can't leave out the b-i-l we already asked them 1st of all and DH really wanted to have him too. He is closer with him than he is with his sister even.
