What to take for heart burn...
I am 26 weeks and started to get heart burn. What is safe to take??

What I've read is Tums or Rolaids - but definitely double check with your MD!!!

Tums is great, and gives you added calcium. Just don't take TOO much...you can get rebound acidity. I always found taking Simethicone with it helps as well. And simethicone is not absorbed into the blood, so totally safe.

I like the smoothies tums, they aren't chalky like regular ones.

I have been told Zantac. After my procedure the meds did a # on my stomach and they now have me taking Zantac before bed and Prilosec before I get out of bed in the morning... It got so bad that I would randomly throw up from the heartburn and sour stomach and they've both helped tremendously.
Before that I was using tums- and I agree w PP- the smoothies are good!

i use tums, but if i know something will cause heart burn to get worse i take zantac in advance. doc said it is OK.

Then nurse told me I could take TUMS and that it was actually good to take bc of the calcium in it.
