Anyone else get heart palpitations?
I've never had them before, and have noticed them a handful of times in the last couple weeks. I'm reading they can be normal during pregnancy but because of my cardiac history it has my warning bells ringing just a bit. I have a cardio appointment Wednesday and will definitely ask but I guess I'm just looking to normalize? Did others experience palpitations? Feels like my heart is beating pretty hard, and in the center of my chest/throat.

I've been having them off and on. I had a bunch of tests and wore a monitor for 24 hours and except for recording extra beats all is ok. They are normal but your OB will probably want you to have it checked out.

Anyone else get heart palpitations?
I had these but not during pregnancy (not as bad i shld say) after blood tests and EKG turns out my heart pauses and then catches up w an extra beat. Blood work determined i was low on vit D. I was placed on a supplement & the paps went away.

Anyone else get heart palpitations?
Yes, I got palpitations off and on. OB said it was normal because the heart is working a little harder. There was no need for me to see a cardiologist. If happens very frequently I would talk to the dock but for me I would only get them like 1-2 times per week, inconsistently

I get them but not everyday...sometimes in the shower or if I lay on my side. It's very annoying and never asked my doctor because I thought it was part of having anemia  if it gets more frequent then I will ask him

Crashing but I had a major issue with palpitations during my last pregnancy. I have mitral valve prolapse to begin with so it really scared me. I saw my cardiologist, who said it was due to the extra blood flow and cardiac strain. I had to carry a monitor to record incidents for about a week. They said it was ok, just annoying, and they continued to monitor me closely until several months PP. I hope yours is ok too.

Yes. They started with my first baby, and I know have tachycardia. For me, Iron, Mag and Calcium have done wonders.

Yup I get them too! Haven't seen my cardio and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get in trouble if I EVER make this appointment. I have 3 moderate leaky valves and low BP so I was supposed to see him in the beginning of the pregnancy but I was SO sick I couldn't get myself there and then when I finally felt better I've been playing 20 week catch up for the past 10. Mention it to your doctor on Wednesday but I'm sure you will totally be ok. My OB told me that as long as I'm also not getting sweats and dizziness when it happens I'm ok.

Thanks! And thanks all. I called my SIL last night who's a doctor and she asked if I had pain/shortness of breath which I did not, so she said I shouldn't worry too much. Of course I'll mention it to the cardio on Wednesday (ugh they are probably going to make me do the dreaded 24 hour holter), but hopefully it's nothing. As some of you know I guess, when you have a history of cardiac issues anything heart-related can raise the warning bell a bit! I'm so desperate for them to tell me I'm okay to labor and deliver vaginally that I just don't want any issues!!!

This was me exactly with DD. It didnt happen again with DS and so far so good with #3.

This is what I was told too. I also have mitral valve prolapse, and occasionally get a heart flutter.

i had it alot in the first trimester. havent had any in the 2nd yet. my OB and Cardiologist said it was totally normal as long as im not having sweats or dizziness.

I had this throughout my pregnancy. Sometimes Id be sitting at my desk and all of a sudden it would start pounding like I ran a few miles! I called the dr and she said its because your heart is pumping a lot more blood. I think its normal.

Thanks, that's kinda what it feels like - very fast and hard. But I also feel it in my throat which is weird.

crashing, but I've had palpitations on and off for years. They got very annoying during my second pregnancy, but the dr and the cardiologist weren't concerned. I have felt palpitations in my throat too btw. Weird feeling, but not uncommon I don't think.
