BTDT Moms - anyone who has/had high blood pressure?
Did you go into labor on your own? Did you deliver vaginally?
High bp is one of my high risks. I haven't had a chance yet to discuss with my OB the chances of going into labor on my own and delivering vaginally due to the bp because we have been discussing my other risks first. But I'm just curious what others' experiences were?
Thanks!

Re: BTDT Moms - anyone who has/had high blood pressure?
My situation is kind of different since I generally do not have high bp, but when I was pregnant with my ds I went in for my 38 week appointment and had high bp. Due to this, I was sent to the hospital to be induced. I actually had a fairly quick labor and delivered vaginally.

I have high blood pressure since my early 20s. I was induced for Pre-eclampsia at 37 weeks. I delivered vaginally. I take labatolol for my hypertension

I had high BP from the 2nd tri through the rest of my pregnancy. I ended up with pre-eclampsia and had to be induced at 39 weeks. Induction went smooth and I had a vaginal delivery.

Thanks guys! I am fairly certain that due to my BP and my other issues I'll be induced, but as long as I can at least TRY to deliver vaginally I feel okay about that.
I'm also on labetalol and so far it is controlling it. Before pregnancy I was on a different med.

Re: BTDT Moms - anyone who has/had high blood pressure?
I did not normally have high blood pressure, but had it my entire pregnancy with #3. I started with 100 mg Labetalol 3x a day at first, and by 35 weeks, I was taking 400 mg 3x a day.
At 37 weeks, my blood pressure was still high and they couldn't increase my meds, so I ended up delivering him at 37 weeks. My OB would have induced, but with #3 and having had a prior c/s, I had to deliver by c/s again.

Re: BTDT Moms - anyone who has/had high blood pressure?
I had pregnancy induced high bp. Started early on in the pregnancy and lasted the whole time. I ended up in the hospital 3 separate times for high bp scares. Dr kept telling me I would be induced by my dd if she didn't come early. Never discussed csection at all. My water broke 1 week before my dd. had to be induced though bc even though my water broke, labor never fully started on its own. Delivered vaginally.
