IGP Pool Safety
For those of you with an IGP and young children, please share what type of pool safety items you have.
I am looking to get an alarm. Can anyone recommend a good one and where to buy it?
Thanks!

Re: IGP Pool Safety
We got our alarm from poolsupplyworld.com. I can't remember which one but stay away from the cheaper ones they get terrible reviews.
Our yard is fenced, and we also have a second fence around the pool that self latches (a state req) and locks.
DD also took swimming lessons (she is 2.5 now) starting last year.

Thanks! I think I ordered the robot from that site last year!! We have the pool fence also. My dh is going to add some sort of extra lock at the top of the door out to the yard.
Am I missing anything??

Re: IGP Pool Safety
We just had the town inspection for our c/o. The only things they looked a were the self latching gate with lock (gate swings out), that it was fenced, we had an alarm, and that we had the valves that shut off with suction so hair can't get caught.
Other than teaching your kids about pool safety you sound like you are doing all the correct things.

Re: IGP Pool Safety
We have our yard fenced in, and the pool itself is fenced in. We have an alarm on the gate-it is a pain at parties, but we always feel it is at parties where bad things happen because everyone feels someone else is watching the kids. We also have an alarm in the actual pool and we have an alarm on the door in my family room leading out to the backyard. I have a sneaky kid-and we wanted to have all the bases covered. I also do not allow my son to play in the yard if I am not back there. I can't remember where we got all the alarms, I think we ordered them online.

Re: IGP Pool Safety
We just got a Poolguard Prgrm 2 after much research. We ordered it from amazon. We also just ordered a doorstop safety lock for our back door for there too. I do not have the pool separately fenced but my kids are older and can swim. I still will have a no playing in the yard without an adt policy.

Re: IGP Pool Safety
I got my pool alarm from Leslies I believe.
I dont like it. It's a PIA. you have to remove it, than put it back. and it would randomly go off with an ear piercing sound in the middle of the night.
I installed a 6 ft PVC fence across my backyard right before the pool. It cuts my backyard in 1/2. So we can be in the backyard & they dont have access to the pool.
I had the loop loc cover put on.
The 2 doors that lead to the outside are always locked with a key & key inside a top cabinet. I started this when DD was 10 months, so we all got in the habit of it.
