3 Hour Naps!
DD is 22 months and recently started taking 3+ hour naps! My nanny wants me to call my doctor, but I figure it is probably just a growth spurt combined with dropping her second nap. Should I be worried at all?!

If there isn't anything else you feel worried about I would say its probably the combo of dropping to 1 nap and a growth spurt. I wouldn't be worried

My first son went to a single 3 hour nap somewhere around 14 months old (I think) & he stuck with it until he was nearly 3 years old...and then he suddenly dropped them completely  Anyways, I wouldn't be concerned so long as everything else seems fine.

My son used to be the king of 3 hour naps. To this day he is a great sleeper..it's just the way he always has been

Sounds amazing to me. As long as he has a normal energy level the rest of the day, I wouldn't worry.

when my son went down to 1 nap, he did 3 hour naps for a few years.  Enjoy!

My 2.5 year old still takes 3 hr naps & it started prior to 2 when he dropped his 1st nap.

As long as eveything else seems fine ( energy level when she's awake, her eating...) I wouldn't worry about it! DS is 29 months, and he usually sleeps 2.5 hours in the afternoon, and that's with me waking him up lol he could prob go longer! I think some kids just need more sleep than others...

Lol. Thanks everyone! I don't like it though - I am a FTWM and don't want to lose all that time with her on the weekend! Good for my nanny though!

My DD (19 months) takes one nap, 3-4 hours a day. She usually naps for 2 hours, wakes up, plays in her crib for 15 minutes, and it's back to sleep for an hour and a half. I'm not complaining!

My 2 1/2 year old can take anywhere between 2 and 3 hour naps..... I'm not concerned and definately not complaining.

at that age ds regularly took 3-4 hour naps, and slept 11 hours at night
at 3 he fights naps, but when he finally goes down he can go 3 hours still.

My twins are 17 months. They take one nap a day & is usually 1 1/2 hours. I wish for 3 HOurs!!!

3 Hour Naps!
DD is 2 and for the last few mos she often takes 2.5-3.5 hour naps on tge weekends. At daycare during the week she naps maybe 90 min. It's nothing to be concerned about. I think she gets tired from her busy week and just really needs it.

My 13 month old has only ever taken 1 nap.... 3 hours was normal. Now its more like 2 hours.

Yup my twins who are 26 months take a 2-3 hr nap everyday!
