Spinoff of trying for #2, other questions..
For those that went through IF for #1, did you find that your body went back to a normal cycle after giving birth? When you were ready for #2 did you go straight to the RE?
I'm not trying yet but its stuff that I think about for the future.... my issue before getting pregnant with DS is that I never ovulated on my own (and before taking provera, never saw AF, due to being on loestrin for years).. I got pregnant with DS using clomid/trigger/IUI/crinone. My PP cycles (7 months now) are now 25 days. I've been temping on FF just for the heck of it and my temperatures are so erratic, that I think I still not may be ovulating again..if FF does catch an ovulation then my LP is like 7 days. I know I can't confirm for sure w/o blood tests but its got me worried again, so just wanted to hear about your experiences.
Also, if you did go back to the RE, how were you able to manage going in the AM for monitoring appts when you have your LO?
TIA!

I think each person is different but....
My cycles are exactly the same 28 days, always ovulate the same time (generally). My issues were unknown with DS and I finally got PG on our own but did go through failed IUIs.
With #2 I think we will try for a few (and just a few) on our own before I head back to the RE.
ETA - when I do have to go back to the RE mine is in the city so I will just go on my way to work. DS is in daycare so I do nto ahve any scheduling issues.

For me my cycle was always regular for the most part. It went back to normal after having DD. We dealt with MF IF. However I know there are grads on here that got surprise BFPs after going through IF for their prior pregnancies so it does happen.
As far as the monitoring appointments for #2 I just went in early in the morning. DH would drop DD off at school. Honestly it was only about 2 weeks of monitoring every other day so not so bad.

Re: Spinoff of trying for #2, other questions..
I think about this constantly lately. My DD is 16 months old and was conceived through IVF/ICSI. We have unexplained IF. Even though i nursed for a year, i got my period when dd was 4 months. It has been pretty regular, but always has been. DH and I had a consult with Dr. Cohen at NSUH just to see what our next steps might be. Throughout the past 16 months we have not used BC so I am pretty sure if we want another baby we will need to go back to our RE. I have real mixed emotions about it for many reasons - practical, emotional and financial. I want so badly to give my DD a sibling but feel so incredibly blessed to have her after our 3 year struggle i just fear that struggling while being the best mom I can be is going to be challenging. That being said, we do want to give it a good try!!
