reaction to the hep b shot?
anyones child have a reaction to the hep b vaccination? I give my son only one vac at a time and the hep b is next...I just gave him the polio and he was fine...no fever no fussiness....but I know that polio is the mildest of them all....he was ok with the others so far but I know they are mild as well...I just want to know what I am in for...

reaction to the hep b shot?
Did your DS get the hep B in the hospital? It's a 3 dose vaccine and usually the first. My DS had zero reaction to any of them so far and he is 15 months.

Ped had said there is typically no reaction with the Hep B shot. My DD never had any.

I was told by the ped that there is usually no reaction to hep B. DD had her first dose at 3 months and for each dose does get fussy and doesn't sleep well at all that night.

Ok thanks...my son is 1 yr...my doc doesn't do shots until 2 mos and I only allow one vaccination at a time so hep b is next...

No reaction. They usually give Hep B to babies one day old in the hospital, because it's so unusual to have any reaction at all.

Nothing.
Only immunization we ever had an issue with was prevnar. That reaction was only once with our second child (fever).

We've only had the first hep B so far and no reaction... Odd thing is they didn't even ask if we wanted it in the hospital so he got it at his first ped visit and then there wasn't enough time in between visits so he won't be getting the second until his 2 mo visit.

Dd got her 1st hep b shot at 3 months. No reaction. Her next one is at 5 months, in 2 weeks.

just curious, how can you be sure that was a reaction to the vaccine? 3 weeks later? Is that typical of the vaccine or maybe just DC's skin progressing through newborn ups and downs?

I don't have solid proof the vaccine caused my first child's eczema, but I'm pretty sure it did. We have no family history of eczema whatsoever. My first child's eczema went away from around 2/2.5 years and then flared back up after her 4 year shots.
Doctors from the country our parents are from have said that eczema seems to be a problem with American kids. My other two children were not vaccinated with hep b and they do not have eczema. Eczema seems to be the new normal here in our country.
Not saying that vaccines are the only cause of eczema in children, but in my child's case I think it was a trigger.

american kids because of how americans vaccinate? since american kids tend to me a melting pot of EVERYTHING else. just trying to understand? is the Hep B vaccine not given in the country your parents are from?

Not sure about their vaccine schedule, but I'm pretty sure it Is much less than what is mandated here. And as I mentioned before, vaccines are just one factor in the insurgence of childhood conditions that we are seeing. Diet is another huge factor. This is just my opinion.
As for my daughter, I think she is sensitive to the preservatives in almost all of the vaccines (not just hep b) because her eczema continued during the period of time that she was vaccinated. During the brief hiatus between 2 and 3 when children are not vaccinated, the eczema went away. And as I mentioned before, the eczema flared back up after her 4 year shots(about a month or two later). Because of the delayed reaction, I did not relate it back to the vaccines at the time. But now looking in retrospect, it makes perfect sense. I wish I was a better historian at the time because I could have shown it to her doctor.
