Do people still get "body waves"?
I'm thinking that I want some waves in my hair, but don't have the time to spend with the curling iron every mornnig before work.
I straighten my hair every day after I blow dry it. If I let it air dry, it will get very limp waves - it's not something that I could do every day to wear out in public or to work. LOL.
Is there something my hair girl can do to give me waves? I don't want like poodle curls or a perm - just looking for soft-ish waves without having to use a lot of product. (my hair is fine to begin with)

Yes they call them texture waves now or texture services. I haven't had it done because I highlight and my hair is super fragile so I dont' want to do 2 chemical processes. But they use a larger roller so it's not like an old school perm where you'd be getting tight, poodle curls. I really want to do it but I just can't risk damage at this point. But my hair is super fine, super flat, and lacks structure to hold a style so this would actually be perfect for me.

I'm in the same boat with the super fine, fragile, over-processed hair.
I just want a change!!

Talk to your stylist. The chemicals they use in body waves have also come a long way and they do make some gentler ones for fragile hair or hair that has been colored. It's worth a conversation at least.
