Subchorionic Bleeding During Pregnancy
Has anyone ever had Subchorionic Bleeding During Pregnancy? My friend just started her 2nd trimester. This is the 2nd time she's been bleeding badly. Sono looked good for baby though.
Anyone know what they do? bed rest?
TIA...again!

Re: Subchorionic Bleeding During Pregnancy
Do you know what dr she sees? They should def be monitoring her. I passed a couple of bright red clots while I was away on vacation. I went to the ER and they told me my babies were fine but they couldn't find the source of the bleeding... It was nervewracking. I did some research online. I would be cautious of a bleed. It should be monitored to ensure that it doesn't get larger. It's all about the size and the placement I believe. Also if its a clot, bleed or hemorrhage... I see dr Kofinas. She may want to get a second opinion if she doesn't feel her dr is monitoring it closely enough. Hth!

Subchorionic Bleeding During Pregnancy
It depends on the size & location of the clot. I would be careful and as pp said make sure dr is closely monitoring

Re: Subchorionic Bleeding During Pregnancy
Dr kofinas is in garden city. I live out on the north fork and travel and hour and a half to see him b/c IMO he's the best. She would still need an Ob. I see dr pillitteri who is in deer park. I like him but I know some dont. I see dr Kofinas every 2 weeks and dr pillitteri every 3-4. Hope that helps!
If she has out of network benefits I would give dr Kofinas a call even if its for a one time appt for a second opinion. The risk is if the bleed is in between the placenta and the wall of the uterus I believe. If the bleed expands it could cause the placenta to move away from the uterus... And should be monitored. Best of luck to her

Subchorionic Bleeding During Pregnancy
I had one with my pregnancy, I bled a lot until 22 weeks. My re releases me still and I was under the care of my regular ob. He did more sono's and appts to watch it. In my case, as the baby got bigger the hematoma would get smaller, plus eac time I bled it would reduce in size. He usually put me on moderate bed rest until the bleeding slowed down and then I would go back to work. She is seeing Erhart, right? If it gives her piece of mind maybe seeing a specialist would put her at ease. In my case it wasn't necessary but like I said mine was reducing in size therefore reducing any complications for my dd. it was also below her, closer to my cervix which is what could have made the difference. Good luck to your friend, seeing blood anytime your pregnant is nerve wracking especially when you are in your 2nd trimester so I understand the agony she is going through.
