Girls that are RH negative- Anyone get RhoGam for Bleeding during pregnancy
Since I had very very light pink bleeding last night, they want me to come in for a Rhogam shot today not to take any chances.
Has anyone else had to do this?

I didnt have to take it for bleeding, but I did have to have it at 28 weeks with both of my boys and then had it again after they were both born since they were + blood type

Yes, I had a tiny bit of bleeding when I was PG with DS around 8wks. I went to the ER to be checked and got the shot to be safe. 
I had it again later in my PG and after DS was born.

Yes. Anytime I had a bleeding episode with DS #1 I had a RhoGham shot. I had 5 of them by the time I delivered.

I had mine @ 6 weeks for spotting and @ 28 weeks.

Yep! I had bleeding at 14 weeks with my son, and had the rhogham then, then again at 28 weeks and again after delivery. No side effects whatsoever!

yes I had to do it twice! so all together I had 4 shots of rhogam
no side affects, just a sore bum that shot is no joke

i did the rhogam thing twice during my first pregnancy, as is usual. this time, though, i had some bleeding issues so i've had a shot already. i'm assuming i'll have it again at the usual times too.
no side effects. except it's a big needle

Not that we saw. I had a lot of bleeding during my PG b/c of a complete previa. When I had a couple of flare-ups (bleeding wise) where the Dr thought it might compromise the baby's health, I got another RhoGham shot.

I think at 6 weeks you might be too early to get the shot. I would ask your Dr about it if you are rH negative.

I just got the shot last monday (15 weeks) due to some light spotting. I didn't have any noticable side effects.

I got it once when I miscarried. I know that I have to get it at 28 weeks, and directly after birth.. as do all women who are rh negative. Also anytime you have bleeding.. you have to get it.
It's no biggie. Just a shot. It is kind of pain to get. Some insurance companies make a big deal of it. I have to pick it up at the pharmacy and bring it with me to the office. I think HIP has to be ordered from down south. It's nuts because it is SOO vital.

Your doctor will screen your blood type when you go in for your first appointment.
Rh negative is just your blood type.. O neg or A neg.. etc.
The problem is you don't know your babies blood type. If it is postivie there can be a problem. Not for this pregnancy but for future ones. If your blood mixes with the babies postive blood your body will recognize the babies blood as an enemy. It will begin to develop antibodies to fight that blood. Soooo.. If your next pregnancy also yeilds a postive blood type baby, your body will begin to fight it. The effect gets worse with each pregnancy.
But, Rhogam stops your body from building these antibodies. Which is why we get it at any bleeding episode and 28 weeks and after birth. It is a wonderful thing and nothing to be afraid of. Before it was developed women with negative blood types were limiited to smaller amounts of children and had an increased risk of birth defects after the second child.

yes i had the shot when I had light bleeding in the beginning another one at 28 weeks and another at birth if baby isnt the same blood type. TOTALLY nomal for them to ask you to come in..
