Have your eating habits changed a lot?
I'm just 12 1/2 weeks and I feel like I eat so much crap I wouldn't ordinarily eat. Fries... pizza... I used to be so much more health conscious but I keep on giving myself excuses.
I'm trying to make myself feel better here for feeding my kid the worst diet known to woman. Anyone else feel like their diet has made a complete 180 (for the worst) since getting pregnant? Obviously you are going to eat more ... I'm not even referring to that ... I just feel like I can't make healthy food choices anymore and then I feel guilty like I'm doing something wrong for my developing baby.
I'm sure he's not getting all the nutrients he needs with 85% carbs and fats Just having a guilty mom moment I guess
Anyone?

Re: Have your eating habits changed a lot?
Absolutely. I have been a pretty loyal calorie counter and health conscious eater for the last 2.5 years.
I was easing up for a bit anyway but... that's... practically all out the window.
I try to make sure I have lots of yogurt/fruit/oatmeal around to snack on but I'm eating a LOT and always want carbs.
Bagels, pizza, ravioli. Always.

Re: Have your eating habits changed a lot?
Yup!
My doctor told me in the beginning to eat what i can eat. The prenatal vitamin is there for a reason. First trimester I was so sick that i didn't eat anything but bagels and crackers. But now something I will do is every day I have a fruit smoothie with protein powder, and sometimes even add spinach (covering up the taste of course) so that a few hours later when I down curly fries and ice cream, i dont feel so bad!

YES!!!!! All I want to eat is crap and healthy food is not appealing whatsoever. I really need to make an effort to eat better.

Not yet anyways but I literally can only eat half of what I used to. So hopefully it's only half crap!

That's exactly it!! Healthy foods just isn't appealing .. like .. at all. I'd normally go to the chinese place and get steamed chicken with veggies and brown rice. Nope.. now I'm all about egg rolls and lo mein. (that's not to mention what the rest of my day looks like)
I just hope my baby is still doing ok in there. All the crap I eat, I'm probably giving him teenage acne!

Re: Have your eating habits changed a lot?
I am hoping once I'm out of the first trimester I can eat junk!! I'm living on seltzer, raisin bread, strawberries and ginger ale I think once I start to feel relief from MS I will hate these things that are keeping me and the baby alive I want pizza, potato chips, ice cream. Orange juice, steak, cheeseburger, hot peppers.....

Yes! I used to be super healthy. Now if I miss a day of pasta or grilled cheese sandwiches I might just cry!

I lived on lipton soup and mashed potatoes. 9 months straight. My doc said as long as I was drinking water babies would be fine. Guess what? They are fine!

I've been eating really healthy overall! No soda, and caffeine maybe twice. When I do cheat or crave sweets my weakness is the mini cherry pies from Starbucks.

I could have written this myself, word for word. Before pregnancy I was SO health conscious. I was even vegan. Now, all I want is crap. I feel like a piece of poop.

Re: Have your eating habits changed a lot?
Already eating like crap. I spent the last year and a half of my life religiously watching what I eat and exercising, and I lost like 35 lbs. Since a week and a half ago that has all gone down the drain. I eat what I crave and I have worked out twice because I'm just too damn tired.
I try to drink a lot of water and get some fruit and veggies in a couple times a day. If Catey's muffins thrived on soup and mashed potatoes I think I'll be okay!!!

Re: Have your eating habits changed a lot?
Yes but I was the opposite. I used to eat crap then I only wanted water, fruit. I did still eat pizza and pasta though. I used to only eat chicken but I craved red meat and han and cheese sandwiches. And I loved coffee before but hated it while pregnant. I hated most of the little snacks I liked before pregnancy (cheese and crackers). And I rarely ate vegetables. I liked sweets before but couldnt stand them during. I'd take fruit over chocolate cake any day.

Re: Have your eating habits changed a lot?
Me! I was not big on overindulging, and I would always be careful about portion control, but since I've been pregnant, that is all completely out the window. Right now I will eat just about anything I can get my hands on, and most of it isn't healthy....
I feel llike such a cow!

Re: Have your eating habits changed a lot?
Add me to the list of not eating healthy. I too was pretty conscious of what I ate. Now, not so much. I have a huge pizza craving and I've always had a sweet tooth but it's so much worse now.
I feel like a cow. I also feel bloated pretty much all the time. DH told me I need to stop bringing sweets into the house.

Have your eating habits changed a lot?
Absolutely! I was on a pizza kick a couple of weeks back that I had pizza almost every day. Now the junk food is giving me major indigestion so now I eat "healthier" only because I have to, not that I want to.
