Grand Floridian vs Beach Club resort

We are a family of 4... The price difference between the two is only 200 bucks.

I know the beach club has awesome pools, but maybe not for a 3 and 5 year old.... We will be going in warm warm weather.

bUt the GF is on the monorail....

It's only for 3 nights. Any advice? Which would u pick and why?

Thanks

I have not stayed at either hotel, but I feel that the GF is more formal than the BC. I think it depends upon what you are looking for. The BC has walk in access to Epcot so if you plan on going there a lot that might be nice. Does the BC have boat access to other resorts/parks? If so I loved using the boats as transportation. I would see where you want to eat breakfast, and if you plan on taking naps/use the pool during the day. If so, something closer to the parks you plan on attending might be nice.

The pool at the Beach Club is PERFECT for a 3 and 5 year old. The "sand" is just awesome for them to play in! With that said, for a $200 difference, I would choose the monorail resort. Especially since it's a short trip.

Then I would pick the GF but I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

I think you mean MK right? WDW is the whole complex (Mk, EPCOT, HS, AK, waterparks and resorts).

Well normally I would say no question the GF with those ages between the two. I will still recommend the GF but I would throw this out there. They are building a GF DVC and have been doing a lot of construction. One nice thing they built is an Alice themed water play structure (one that you climb with slides that dumpswater.) Nothing beats the convenience of the monorail resort. Have you checked out the Contemp where you can walk to the MK or the Poly where you can take thee monorail to the MK or walk next door to the TTC and hop the epcot monorail or the MK ferry?

The beach club is a great hotel, as mentioned the beach club pool is great for any age. I personally love EPCOT. My girls loved EPCOT at 1 and almost 3. Now at almost 6 and 4 they are very excited to hit both the MK and EPCOT which are their favorite parks. I don't think you can go wrong either way. I do recommend doing some research to see if they finished a lot of the hotel work they were doing (not including the dvc- they had closed the spa for a while and some other services which might be completed by now).

For a 3 day trip, I'd vote for the GF. The access to the MK and Epcot is great.

The beachclub provides transportation by bus to the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. You can walk to Epcot and Hollywood studios or take a boat to both.

Yes they are building DVC units at the GF which may explain why the rates are a little low right now, but it's a stunning resort.

Re: Grand Floridian vs Beach Club resort

GF due to your kids ages, MK being their likely top park and it being on the monorail for sure

If you can easily afford the extra $200, I'd do the GF.

Re: Grand Floridian vs Beach Club resort

We stayed at the GF in 2011 with a 1 year old and a 3.5 year old. My oldest DD loved the pool and the slide. Since you are only there for 3 days, I would definitely stay there. Being on the monorail will save you a lot of time.
