What did you introduce shellfish with? I want to start to give it to my DS and I want to get him to eat it so I know he is not allergic. I was thinking crab cake or shrimp cocktail, anything that you child loved that you recommend.

Around 9m or so she was eating shrimp, crab and lobster.
I didn't even stop to think of an allergic reaction. Just gave it to her. Then again I didn't stop to think of it when I gave her strawberries at 6m. Just like any food I just watched her when I gave her anything new to see if she'd like it. She loved shrimp. LOL Just not FRIED shrimp. We'd pull it out of the breading and cut it up really small since she had no teeth.

Shrimp Scampi with Linguine
Yeah AJ ate tons of stuff basically because it was on my plate and I either didnt want to pay for a kids meal (waste) at that age or because the options were not appealing (cheeseburger and pizza?) so she'd eat off my plate.
Shrimp, salmon, lobster, asparagus, etc. Ironically, she's 'fallen off the wagon' if you will from most of it. She wont eat Salmon anymore or lobster but she'll still eat asparagus and shrimp

I would only be concerned if you have a shellfish allergy in the family. My DH is allergic to crab. Dd#1 is allergic to shrimp and crab. My DD's allergist said trying things early is better than waiting and better to try under 1. Ped had told me 2-3 due to family allergy. So far been afraid to try DD#2. Since her sister came up positive in blood work and hasn't tried it and was told even though DD#2 was negative with blood work she could still have a reaction. They eat other fish just we avoid shellfish for now.

No allergies in our family. Our pedi told us to wait until 18 months so that is why I waited. I probably could have tried it earlier
