Cruising and preg

I took a cruise (7 days bahamas out of NY)...we booked it before I became pregnant and not knowing. I was around 5 months when we went...I didn't have any issues besides not enjoying the cocktails.
I did get a little sea sick but everyone I was with did due to some rocky weather so not too sure being pregnant had anything to do with it.
All in all I had fun but being pregnant really doesnt ever stop me from doing much (unless its dangerous)

I would. I'd get travel insurance just in case but I'd go. You can go up until 24 weeks.

We did and aside from not drinking we had a great time. I made sure we ate at all of the specialty restaurants in lieu of drinkingChat Icon

Re: Cruising and preg

We cruised NCL out of New Orleans when I was 9 weeks pregnant. I was not pregnant went we booked it and had been trying for almost a year, so didn't expect to be pregnant on trip.

The first few days were ok, but then I would get sick every single night. I couldn't eat anything but watermelon. We still had an ok time, but it wasn't very pleasant at night. DH ate by himself a lot and walked around the ship while I rested. I wouldn't recommend doing it on purpose.

Re: Cruising and preg

Never. I would never want to be trapped on a cruise while pregnant (but I hate cruises). I would be afraid of contracting some illness and not having access to a hospital as well.

Re: Cruising and preg

My babymoon was a cruise... And i went on it pretty much the last week that they allow you to... 25 weeks or so... Best decision ever... As for first tri, I was nauseous most of the time and had food aversions to just about anything so it would have been a waste in the first tri for me... 2nd tri was amazing and the most perfect time to take a cruise! I would do it again in a heartbeat
