Registering is so overwhelming!

Oh my gosh! DH and I went to Buy Buy Baby last night to start our registry and I was so overwhelmed. We were there for almost two hours and we only scanned 32 things! How do you even begin to make all these decisions? There's so much stuff!

Registering is so overwhelming!

I honesly did a lot of my registering online. I found it less overwhelming for me. The major items though I obviously wanted to see in person so I saved those for the store but the other ones I registered online. Found it to be easier.

Yeah it is, my mom went with me. I found the booklet thing with all the registry guide really helpful. And i did a lot of editing and adding online as well.

DH didnt even go with me for that reason alone! I went with my friend who helped a ton because it was sooo much! It took 2 full days .. about 4 hours each.. I still have no idea what half the stuff I registered for is for.. lolChat Icon

We did most of the research for the bigger things before hand using the Baby Bargains book which was SO helpful. We looked at them in the store to make sure we liked them and then the smaller stuff was easy and a lot of that we added online from home.

ITA with this...personally I think if you're on the fence about something, just wait. They're all so different!

I felt the same way! Here what worked for us...

- Buy the book, Baby Bargains. It has tons of reviews and goes through what you really need and what's just nice to have.

- Use a BBB personal shopper! They are there to help you. They'll tell you what you need an how many of each item they recommend.

- Don't expect to do all your registering at once. We probably went 4 times in total. I'd make a list of things to register for that day so I didn't feel overwhelmed and walk around aimlessly.

- Expect to tweak. A lot. We changed our minds about a lot of items often. I'd make the adjustments at home, online often. But once you put a car seat, for example, on your registry, then it's a place holder. You know you need to choose a car seat, even if it's not the one on your registry at that moment.

It's totally doable, but at first I was really overwhelmed as well. Don't worry - everything falls into place. Good luck!

Registering is so overwhelming!

I bought my dh and his bf and wife who are already parents. We were there for about 4hrs then when I got home I texted 3 of my gf's who are parents and asked them to look at the registry to see if we missed anything. Very overwhelming.

We registered for a lot of the big things online after research and referencing baby bargains. We did a lot of the smaller stuff in store...and did it between 2 days....and then did a lot of adding and changing online. It was too much to do in one day and super overwhelming.

We used a personal shopper at BBB and had a great experience. She spent over two hours with us and basically built our entire registry.
