Did you ever go to sandals?

I'm imagining beaches a lot like that. The rooms and set up looks similar (with the villages).

I spent maybe $500 a night at sandals pre baby. It was wonderful. Great food, sushi and grilled lobsters for dinner. Alcohol unlimited. Boats (I sail) at your fingertips, snorkeling, heck even scuba. I thought with my dinners being typically $200 and my daytime activities around $150, it was well "worth it".

I'd do Turks and Caicos like that! My kids may be a bit too young at 2.5 and 1... They can't do many activities now and would be happy digging dirt in our backyard! I'll wait a bit, but honestly, I've been to Marco island and had lunch at the Marriott. While it is very nice, it doesn't compare to the sandals resort I went to in Antigua and the beach doesn't compare to the one in Turks and Caicos. That being said, I haven't been there. Again, I haven't been... But things are worth what people will pay for them Chat Icon

Beaches Turks is amazing. I have been twice, with 3 kids. It is very family oriented. It is $$ but worth it in my opinion.

I have also been to domincan republic and it doesnt compare!

We went to the dominical republic a few years ago and I was not impressed. The resort had nice pools but I did not like the cheap liquor and bad food at our resort.

We just booked Beaches T&C for the end of April.

We are paying $800 per night, which is still expensive but not $2300/night that I originally got quoted for early April.

Looking forward to it. Chat Icon

funny I just did a quote earlier tonight and my jaw dropped. It looks amazing, but not $10k amazing with airfare and a regular double room (not suite )

It is far from amazing. Don't believe the website pics. It was awful

Or maybe I am spoiled....

Everyone we have met who has been there raves about it but they are newer friends so I don't know what their travel standards are.

I personally love staying at nice hotels. I do not like dated hotels. It especially bugs me when the pools show wear and tear. On this trip, it is important for the resort to have a great spa. Equally important is for the resort to have a kid's club (does not need to be drop off, just a room with some toys and games.

Maybe it is because I am not a huge fan of Sesame Place but I can't see dropping this much money on this resort. You can stay at any of the Ritz resorts or even a Mandarin Oriental for cheaper.

I loved my trip to BEACHES T&C, gave it a great review on tripadvisor & plan to go back but the spa is pretty ordinary. It's fine for a vacation spa and i would get treatments there again but it's not a top spa. No issue with wear and tear on the pools but the spa would probably disappoint you.

As usual, I will sacrifice the amenities I want in exchange for the amenities geared towards the kids.

You will love it. We also got a full time Nanny while we were there and she was great. My kids ask all the time when we are going back.

I have also been to the Beaches in Jamaica, Negril and it was just OK. No comparison to Turks.

I thought about trying out the Jamaica Beaches but decided against it. I have also heard that the Jamaica one is subpar.

Glad you went with Beaches...We have gone to Atlantis 4 years in a row and this past Nov. was the last time we plan on going. We were really disappointed this year. We have stayed at the Coral towers and Royal towers in suites and it just had a different aura to it this year. It is under new ownership apparently and I think it has something to do with it.

What were you disappointed with? I am considering booking a trip there.
