Is Beaches T&C worth $1000-2000 PER night????
I'm not sure if I'm not putting the inputs in correctly but for the weeks we are available, I am getting quotes of $1000-$2300 PER night! Is this right? Am I doing something wrong?
The only time we spent anywhere close to that was for our honeymoon at that was for St Regis in Bora Bora.
If you have been to Beaches Turks and Caicos, how much did you pay per night? Did you think it was worth the money?
Our other option is to stay at a kid friendly luxury resort. These options are considerably cheaper.

Nope! Stayed for a wedding and hated it. Rooms were run down, shower barely worked, furniture was chipped. The food was terrible and i am NOT picky

I'm not sure if I'm trying to book to late but most of the room choices are sold out. The rooms we are getting don't seem special though. I wonder if the cheaper rooms all sold out and only the expensive ones are left. I can't believe the $2300/night quote though. $16000 for just hotel seems really crazy! DH is willing to splurge on this trip but I would not dare even bring this up.

Re: Is Beaches T&C worth $1000-2000 PER night????
We went to beaches three years ago. I honestly don't remember how much we paid......but I know it wasn't close to that expensive. It was one of the best vacations I ever went on.....everything completely included, very clean, immaculate beach. However, I would never pay that much to go. I'd go back in a heartbeat....but in reason. I have heard it has gotten very expensive since they made additions!

My SIL goes every year and is there right now. They love it and said its the best vacation ever..they actually rave about the food and they're food snobs, lol! (in a good way, they just appreciate good food). I am dying to go but it will prob take us 20 years to save

My sister goes every year and RAVES about it. Loves it. Kids do too. They've never had any complaints. We were going to join them this year but it didn't work out $ wise.

I would not say awful. I will say that i have been to a lot of nice places and top hotels and the food at Beaches tc was not anythig to write home about... It was okay.

Everyone we have met who has been there raves about it but they are newer friends so I don't know what their travel standards are.
I personally love staying at nice hotels. I do not like dated hotels. It especially bugs me when the pools show wear and tear. On this trip, it is important for the resort to have a great spa. Equally important is for the resort to have a kid's club (does not need to be drop off, just a room with some toys and games.
Maybe it is because I am not a huge fan of Sesame Place but I can't see dropping this much money on this resort. You can stay at any of the Ritz resorts or even a Mandarin Oriental for cheaper.

I know there is a huge premium for the children's activities.
What level resort would it be without the children's activities?

Ihout the children's activities?
It would still be good for adults nice pools and evening shows
Have you looked into ibrostar mexico in playa del carmen? They have 3 levels on the resort adult only and i know one is for kids too (not sure what the third section is). Really beautiful, amazing food. The adults only is beyond amazing and you can use all the other sections to eat, but not visa versa with kids.
All inclusive is the way to go!

I just started researching resorts. I was close to booking the 6 night Disney Fantasy Caribbean cruise. DH already approved the cruise, cost and date. I think a resort would be more relaxing and better for the 2yo.
DH prefers an all inclusive resort that is a relatively short flight from Washington DC. I am pretty open to countries as long as the resort is nice.

I am exactly like you. This place wasn't even close to the standard you should get for that price. If it makes a difference we were child free at the time. So maybe we didn't appreciate it for what it was... a resort geared toward families and great for kids. 3 other couples in our party felt the same. Our room was not good. The food... limited and not great. Maybe things have changed. This was 5 years ago. But for that kind of cash.... you can go 5 star elsewhere True 5 star.

I loved my trip to BEACHES T&C, gave it a great review on tripadvisor & plan to go back but the spa is pretty ordinary. It's fine for a vacation spa and i would get treatments there again but it's not a top spa. No issue with wear and tear on the pools but the spa would probably disappoint you.

We loved it. We went in Dec 2011 and are going back Dec 2013. I think we paid around $10-12k (i don't remember exactly) for 5 nights in a family suite in the Italian Village. The room was great. The Italian Village is the newest village so it's in perfect condition - everything is brand new. It's also closest to the ocean. The food is just ok - but I don't expect 5 star meals at any all -inclusive. The kids camp/babysitting/activities are great as well. The kids loved it and they are not huge sesame fans.

I've stayed at some true 5 stars including the Ritz in Dubai, Mandarin Oriental in Singapore, Oberoi in India, etc. and they were all about half the cost of Beaches Turks and Caicos. I love a nice spa! For the past 3 years, we have basically done vacations geared for kids. This trip I want to enjoy just as much as the kids.
I've just spent the past 2 hours doing research in the Caribbean and have come up short. There are several resorts in Hawaii that sound perfect for what I want though. I don't think the boys would last on such a long flight.

Club Med actually seems like a pretty good compromise. Can't beat the kid activities.
It isn't the Caribbean but I'm looking into Little Palm Island in the Keys. One of my friends highly recommended it. DH and I have never been to the keys.

Are you flexible on dates - you are probably looking at one of the weeks kids are out of school - that is probably why it is so expensive. I know the Disney cruise I went on was less than 1k the week I went and was close to 5k the week the kids were out of school 2 weeks later.
I looked at going there but decided to wait bc DD was too young, but it was nowhere near that much. I think it was around $500 a night when I looked.

What about atlantis. We have been there twice (however PRE kids) ad stayed in the Reef hotel there and it was sooo nice. I liked that it wasn't in the chaos of the main part but everything was available. We stayed there the summer before DD was born so it's a good 4 years but we loved it. It can be pricey though but from reason at the other places you are looking at I'm sure it's not bad. The Cove looked even more amazing but i am not sure if kids are allowed in that part.
