HELP Am I too late=CIO

DD is 10 months old and for the past three weeks is waking multiple times a night. We are all exhausted!!!!!!!!!!!!
She used to wake only once and I would give her a bottle and she would go back down.

Here are the mistakes I think I have made.
I have always feed her a bottle and rocked her to sleep. I know it was wrong, but whats done is done.
We have never let her cry

Am I too late?

I am sooo tired frustrated cranky and on top of it all have a cold I cant get rid of.
Any advise is welcome

Chat Icon Try not to beat yourself up. We all do what we think is best and what works until it's not working anymore. If rocking & a bottle worked for you, then I see nothing wrong with it. But now it's not working so it's time for a change. That's all, no big deal.

From what I've heard from others, you are definitely not too late for CIO. There are different methods. You can just put her in her crib after her nighttime routine and not go back in at all. Or you can do the gradual method where you go in in intervals. (Someone else might be able to give you a better idea on this because I never went back in). Whatever you decide, just stick to it and be consistent. Good luck!

You're def not too late. We didnt do CIO with DS until he was 10 months old because I was too chicken. I finally couldnt take it anymore, he would wake and always end up in our bed. The first night he cried for 8 mins. The 2nd night not at all! The 3rd night whimpered a bit but no crying. Since then he has slept 10-12 hrs a night and on his own. We've put him in his crib (now bed) and read him a book and said okay goodnight and walked out! He knows now how to put himself to sleep. I think it really helped the CIO process that we did the same thing with him every night since he was a few wks old so he had a routine and knew it was time to sleep.

Good luck!

I don't think its ever really too late. It might be harder as they get older but not too late.
