I looked a consumer reports.

Some of the items aren't on there, so I went wih my preference.

I registered for the Chicco key fit 30 car seat
City mini stroller
I went to Behrs for my furniture cause I wanted solid wood.

I used this for the bigger items. Not really for the smaller accessories

Re: Registries

I went to see what I liked and then I did a lot of research online about each product.

Definitely get the Baby Bargains book! The reviews were so helpful for the bigger ticket items.

Our carseat is the Graco Snugride.
I'm still torn on a stroller but I'm leaning towards the UppaBaby Vista
Crib/Dresser we went to Behrs and got a Romina set.

For the smaller stuff I just used the checklist they provided in the store and went section by section.

This book was my bible when we were registering and buying the big ticket items! I literally read it cover-to-cover.
