So I'm not close to my half sister, age gap, anyway I overeard dh talking to my bf who lives OOS she is planning my shower since no one has offered. Dh asked for a couple of my gfriend's numbers, well actually caught him taking them out of my phone to see if they can help and I know my MIL who also lives OOS offered to help a bit financially. Dh was going to throw me a shower but I said I didn't want that I'd rather pay for the baby stuff with that money. I keep saying I don't want a shower and now I feel guilty that's friends are throwing it for me. Wwyd? Do I get them a thank you gift when all is said and done? How would you handle it, I just feel awkward and wish my sister and SIL would have stepped up but I'm not surprised. I go out of my way for them and its never reciprocated.

I would get an appreciation gift in the end not too big but a nice thank you(I did a mani/pedi thing). I know how you feel not really wanting one, but it sounds like its already in motion so enjoy it! It is your first!
