Third trimester girls- how's your sleep?
Usually I get up every 2 hours to pee and go right back to sleep. Now that baby girl's head is in my ribs, I'm in some serious constant pain.
Last night she woke me up every hour with a sharp headbutting pain and I'd have to get up to pee.
I already sleep on 4 pillows, propped up. Sometimes depending on her headbutting skills at the moment, I sleep on one of my sides or my back but none of it's comfy.
Any tips to sleeping better? I'm always so thirsty and drink a lot so it's hard to limit my liquids at night. I'm starting to think that I'll actually sleep better when the twins are HERE! Maybe I'll get a good 2-3 hours straight.

Re: Third trimester girls- how's your sleep?
Sorry to say but I barely slept at the end of my twin pregnancy between being uncomfortable and being anxious sleep was hard to come by. I wasn't working anymore (on bedrest) so I tried not to stress about it but I was tired! You are right....I slept better once they came

That's just what I wanted to hear, thank you!! As long as I know it will get better, I'm ok. I don't really stress it, I have less than a month to go.

almost 30 weeks, surprisingly good still (aside from waking up with painful joint pain as mentioned before)...
only waking maybe 2-3 nights per week to pee and even then, only waking once!

Re: Third trimester girls- how's your sleep?
I'm still sleeping ok but I remember with DD towards the very end I was not getting much sleep. I think it's your body's way of getting used to not sleeping or something! It used to annoy the hell out of me when people would say "Get your sleep now!" when I hadn't had a good night's sleep since I got pregnant.

Re: Third trimester girls- how's your sleep?
I sleep pretty good except for the fact that now at 35 weeks with twins I am getting up to pee every hour. I alternate sides and sleep with a regular body pillow (my lifesavor!). I'm more comfy on my right side. Oh and I have my son in my bed sharing a pillow with me everynight!! Thank God he doesn't mind the big belly lol
Baby A is also digging into my ribs constantly. It is the worst at the end of the day after dinner. Usually when I am sleeping it subsides.
I have taken benadryl a few times for allergies and a rash and it also helps with sleep. If you really need a restful nights sleep talk to your doctor about some options. I literally take a baby dose and those nights I get good rest but off course not often!

29 weeks and still sleeping good. Wake up about 1-2 times during the night to pee. I do sleep with like four pillows. I don't even touch my DH anymore.

Those people need a smack. I always respond with a laugh and say "if I could bank it, i would"

Third trimester girls- how's your sleep?
31 weeks and not sleeping good. I wake up 2 times to use the bathroom; I get charlie horses in the middle of the night; My hips hurt me; I'm congested and wake up because I can't breathe. Then I get thirsty and have to take a sip of water (and then use the bathroom again since I'm up) Guess it's my bodies way of preparing me to get up every 2-3 hours once the baby is here!

Oh yeah the congestion! I wake up coughing and choking between that and asthma. I need to become a mouth breather.

Re: Third trimester girls- how's your sleep?
35w and I've been sleeping decently, although getting up anywhere between 3 - 5 times a night to pee. I also have to change from left side to right side through the night, and my legs get numb.
However, I'm only carrying one, so couldn't even imagine having another one in their right now!

Re: Third trimester girls- how's your sleep?
35 weeks and hardly sleeping! I get up 3-4 times to pee, and then I can't get back to sleep because DH snores. I had nearly 2 weeks off with the storm, and I wasn't able to sleep past 7am any of those days! I get this weird stomachache/indigestion thing in the mornings and I need to be sitting up! Maybe it's practice for the lack of sleep I'll get once the LO is here!

Re: Third trimester girls- how's your sleep?
i totally feel your pain. im almost 35 weeks and its torture to try and sleep. i get up anywhere from 6-12 times at night (yes i began to count) to go to the bathroom and its hardly anything. then i try to fall back to sleep but he is so strong at this point that his movements are super painful if im on either side. then to turn from one side to the other is the worst pain. if i manage to deal with his painful jabs, i still cant stay on one side because im getting terrible hip cramps now. my back position puts such pressure on my pelvis that it hurts plus i feel like i have to pee even more.
ugh, so thats my story. wish i could help but just know you are not alone

Unfortunately for my DH I have also become a snorer due to my constant congestion...between not being able to breathe and having to pee every 2 hrs I never get a good night's sleep!

I'll be 32 weeks tomorrow and I never know how I'm going to sleep. Sometimes it's pleasant and then other nights i get pains in my hips and have to pee every hour.

Re: Third trimester girls- how's your sleep?
I slept well during my 3rd trimester. I just made sure I pee'd before bed and didn't drink a lot of water at night Definitely helped (I drank a lot during the day). I also had a body pillow that helped with aches.

Yeah definitely no banking. Same goes for bedrest. Can't bottle it up and use it when you want once the babies come. I'm pretty sure you can smack them and get away with it while pregnant.
I still dont know know of this sleep you speak of. I thought i slept poorly early in my pregnancy but by the end it was torture. I couldn't get comfy. I'd get contractions on my back, leg would go numb and burn on my left and babies would get pissed and kick me on my right. I also had a million pillows. Oh and just the SPD pain kept me up too.
Now I'm up every 3 hrs and awake for an hr at a time but when I do sleep, I sleep deeply. And I nap when they nap in the day if I need it. So don't worry about banking sleep.
