Where is your baby going to sleep?

Are you planning on co-sleeping with your baby in your room when you bring it home from the hospital or are you going to have the baby sleep in the crib?

Trying to decide on what to register for...

Where is your baby going to sleep?

I have a cradle that he will sleep in for the first few weeks. That will be in our room. After that, (maybe at 6-8 weeks) we will move him into his crib in his own bedroom!

This is what we want to do. I don't want to have to worry about transitioning the baby into his crib later on when I'm ready to go back to work. We'll see what actually happens when we bring him home Chat Icon

For at least the first few weeks I'm gonna use the rock n' play. I just feel more comfortable her being on an incline for breathing issues, SIDS, etc. I'm not sure if I will keep her in my room or her room. Prob mine because I'm very nervous lol

same, crib from the start in his room. for a number of reasons but definately to avoid a transition as one reason. other reasons are honestly no space in our bedroom, pet concerns to consider, etc.

Yup, us too. LO will go right into his/her crib. It will be more work for me getting up to nurse, but we think it will be best for the baby. our bedrooms are upstairs so the baby will only be a few steps away.

I plan on having this baby sleep in a pnp up in our room for the first 2 -3 months or until he/she is sleeping pretty good. My twins room is right next to the nursery and I don't want them getting woken up.

We were gong to use the rock n plays but ended up putting them together in the pack n play. We will move them around 3 mo to their cribs. Not sure if we will put them together. It depends on if they bother each other.

With my DD she was in the cradle in our room for the first 12 weeks then we moved her to the crib with no problem. She didn't have any issue at all with the transition. I will probably do the same with this baby. Chat Icon

Where is your baby going to sleep?

I asked this before and many girls swore by the RnP for the baby to sleep. I put one on the registry... but my bed is kind of high so now I am feeling that the baby will be too low in it next to the bed. So now I am wondering if it is beneficial to just have the baby sleep in her crib from the start. We have a small apt and the room is right next to ours. So I am still not sure either!

we have a big high king size bed, all the rnp, or co-sleepers seem so low and we don't have the room to put the crib in our room.

I initially was going to put dd in her crib right away, that didn't happen. I needed her near me it made me much more comfortable plus they are up every 2 hours in the beginning. We used the rnp.

Re: Where is your baby going to sleep?

My friend is lending me her cradle, so I'll be putting the baby there. I am happy about it. It'll be easier for me to feed the baby. I can only see stopping the cradle if my DH can't sleep with the baby crying. I'll be home and he'll be working, so I figure that makes sense.

Re: Where is your baby going to sleep?

With first DS we had him in our room in bassinett for 8 weeks before transitioning him to crib. It went VERY smoothly, so I will try the same for my twins.

Its nice to have them there because I was paranoid in the beginning, I liked just being able to put my hand in there to check breathing etc...(he was a NICU baby, so I was extra nervous)
