Where does/did you baby sleep?

Right now Miranda is in bed with us in a Snuggle Nest. That wasn't the plan but with the initial feeding issues she was so fussy it was just easier to soothe her without having to get out of bed. We're going to try putting her back in the cradle in our room and that feels hard to me so now I am worried how I am going to deal with putting her in her crib when the time comes.
How did you deal with transitioning baby from your bed/room to the crib?

Emma slept with me until she was 14 months. We just started putting her in there and thank god she accepted it since she could sprawl.

Jeremy is sleeping with me now but he is going into the co sleeper more often since he likes his space as well.

Re: Where does/did you baby sleep?

Christopher slept in the carseat and laying on DH and I for the first month. He liked being close to me and hearing my heartbeat. We tried the snuggle nest and it worked out terribly, especially since we only have a queen bed. Eventually he was able to sleep in his crib BUT he would only sleep on his stomach. I was a complete nervous wreck for the first couple of weeks, but eventually I calmed down. He loves sleeping on his tummy.

For nighttime sleeping, Aidan slept in his cradle for about 2 weeks, then he went right into his crib.

For naps, mostly carseat for 4 months then crib.

Re: Where does/did you baby sleep?

In the beginning, the kids slept most of the time in their pack n' play or car seats. After a few months, they gradually graduated to cribs in their rooms.

Re: Where does/did you baby sleep?

For the first 5 months Claire slept with us, partly because we lived with my parents in one room while we did construction on our house, and also because she only liked to sleep on her tummy and I was too scared to leave her in the packnplay on her tummy all night. Now at almost 10 months she takes all naps in her crib and sleeps for half the night in her crib and usually gets up around 1-2am and then sleeps the rest of the night with us. We are working on transitioning her fully to the crib but I want it to be smooth and not traumatic so we are taking it slow.....In the end I think you have to do what works best for you and dont worry about what other people say........

Jake slept in our room in his carseat for the first month or so. After that we began the transition to the crib in his room. I was so worried that he was going to hate it because he hated the bassinet (so we never used it) but he did just fine.

Re: Where does/did you baby sleep?

During the day Hayley sleeps in her pack and play (in the living room) and at night she sleeps in her cradle (in our room). She was not crazy about the cradle because the mattress pad was so hard so I put a fleece blanket under her cradle sheet and she sleeps much better in it now.

Isabella slept in her mini co-sleeper till she was about 4 months old - she got to long for the mini co-sleeper. Then we moved her into her crib - BUT, her crib is still in our room. I think when she turns a year old I will move her into her own room.

Re: Where does/did you baby sleep?

Nate is still sleeping in his mini co-sleeper at 4 months. I've tried putting him in his crib in the bedroom, but it's a hassle bc he still gets up in the middle of the night.

ETA: During the day, he sleeps in his pack n play in the living room, his crib or on the bed in the guest room.

Re: Where does/did you baby sleep?

Marissa slept in her bassinet but when she woke for her feeding I had her in the bed with me. How I went from the bassinet to the crib was that I would put her in the crib for her naps during the day and only at nite would she sleep in the bassinet. Then finally I would put her in the crib for her naps and when she was going to sleep at nite. But now she won't fall asleep in her crib so I have to lay with her in either my bed or the bed I have in her room and when she is asleep I put her in her crib.
