Just wanted to add...we couldnt come up with a name for my son until a day and a half later...everyone on fb was posting whats his name....before we put it on fb to the world, we made sure to let our family know first!

Ditto! That is SUPER rude and obnoxious. We didn't tell people our name ahead of time becuase we didn't want to deal with opinions but once DD arrived it wasn't a secret anymore. The FB announcement is super lame too. Are they in junior high? 
I wouldn't comment when they do release it either, but maybe I'm really mean.

totally normal in your circumstance - it is odd that they have a name but are telling family they will know with the rest of the world via FB
