Palpitations?
Anyone else have them ... I have been getting them everyday for most of the day on and off and now I have chest pains here and there even when I'm sleeping .. they put me on a heart monitor for 24 hours and I go back today for my results ... the doctor said they might have to put me on beta blockers but I dont know how good that is for the baby?? I am only 19 weeks ... I'm worried about me and the baby.
Update below....

Palpitations?
I have had them my entire second trimester and now into the 3rd. I had an ekg, echo cardiogram, and wore a 24 hour monitor twice and everything came back "normal". Like you, I have them all day, most days. They are so annoying and scary. My doctor prescribed a beta blocker (metoprolol) however it did not work :( He did say the beta blocker was safe to use during pregnancy. Good luck! Hope you get some answers today!

Re: Palpitations?
I get them from time to time. Your heartrate can run faster during pregnancy because you are pumping so much more blood. Hopefully the monitor test comes back normal.

Re: Palpitations?
I am about 16.5 weeks and sometimes I will get palpitations. I feel like my heart just starts racing at times out of nowhere but the doctor and the books all say it's normal. I actually had an EKG coincidentally and everything is fine, it's just a normal side effect of pregnancy. It usually doesn't last long. Comes and goes.
If your palpitations are constant and you're having chest pain too maybe it's something to keep a closer eye one. Feel better!

Palpitations?
I had heart palpitations a lot when I was like ~18-26 weeks. I even posted about it! They came and went, and I haven't had them since (I'm 37+ wees now). However, I did not have any chest pain.
I hope all your tests come back okay!

Re: Palpitations?
I had them last pregnancy and this one too. My doctor told me last time he could send me to the cardiologist if I wanted or if it got bad but I opted not to go. It can be annoying though.
eta- I never had chest pain though. That would scare me into going! I hope your tests come back fine!

Palpitations?
I did get them from time to time and sometimes still do at 30weeks. My doc said it's totally normal - I would mention it to your doc though anyhow

Re: Palpitations?
I have had them on and off the whole pregnancy. They were worst in the first tri. I saw a cardiologist and had an EKG; he wasn't concerned and said it can be a normal side effect of pregnancy. I hope your tests came back OK

Re: Palpitations?
Well my test came back that I had 6,924 arrhythmias (skipped or abnormal heart beats) in 24 hours and now I have to go to an EP specialist ( a cardiologist that specializes in diagnosing/treating patients with heart rhythm disorders) and if worse comes to worse ill have to go on beta blockers ... Which I am worried about. I want a healthy baby just as much as I want to stay healthy throughout this pregnancy for the baby and sometimes it happens so frequent that I feel like I can't breath correctly and it's scary. I hope it's something minor that we can fix and get to the bottom of thanks everyone for your input!
