Childbirth/Lamaze course Video or in Person?
I know similar topics have been posted already...but I'm looking for info about Childbirth/Lamaze course.
MY hospital offers one it's from 9-5 1 day; or it's 3 nights broken up. I actually watched a 4 1/2 hour childbirth/lamaze instruction course video (similar to the laugh & learn) that covered EVERYTHING the hospital covers. Anatomy; Early signs of labor; 3 stages of labor; delivery; pushing; breathing techniques; placenta delivery; post labor; c-sections. Interventions; forceps; vacuums; c-sections, available pain relief drugs. The list goes on. I have 5 1/2 pages of notes from the course! I'm thinking my bases are covered and I won't need the hospital class because they'll cover what I already learned? We're taking the free tour so we'll still get to go and see where everything is! What's your thoughts?

In my opinion the course was not at all worth it. Especially considering all the info you already have from the video. My DH and I were just discussing how it probably would have been mroe worthwhile to take the newborn care class instead.

I didn't think the hospital course was worth while and it sounds like your video covered everything they did.

I had found it on Youtube! It looks like it's from about 10 years ago (if not longer)! But very informative!

We took a Bradley course and it was fantastic. We got tons of information. I intentionally took a class that wasn't taught by a hospital employee.
