Lamaze- video or class?
If they pretty much just show you videos throughout the class, why not just watch a video at home?
Do they do anything more at the class?
Just trying to get info on this before I spend $150

I bought this one too.
Friends and family who took the lamaze class for their child told us to save our time and money.

We took a class because my doctor insisted. Blech- should have just watched the DVD.
The OB tour was really good though. Also, our class was taught my one of the L&D nurses at our hospital, so she went over exactly what the policies are, where to go, etc.

We took the class & it was informative....regarding relaxing techniques; partner massing you; going through breathing exercises; we got a tour of the hospital maternity ward/nursery; she answered any q's we had; we went through all 3 stages of labor; we went through pain medication; we on our last night went through child care (changing diapers; calming a crying baby; nursing baby).
We saw a few videos throughout the 5 classes: one on actual births; one on shaken baby syndrome (mandated by state); one on child care.
If you can I'd say do the class. You also meet other couples due about the same time as you.

We are watching the video right now and that is because everyone told us that Lamaze was a waste of time. The same video that was posted!
We also did the hospital orientation which showed us where to go when the time comes.
