Pediatric Dentist and X-Rays Question
Ive been taking my almost 4-year old to the dentist since 2.5 years old. At her last visit they did x-rays. My Mom screamed at me for allowing that and said no 3-year old needs x-rays UNLESS something was seen prior to deem it necessary. She said they're so bad for a child(too much radiation) and told me to decline them at her next visit. What do you all think?
Thank you.

I'm not sure how bad the radiation is for kids. My DS had cavities when he was 4 and had to have X-rays.

Pediatric Dentist and X-Rays Question
If the x rays are digital then the radiation is minimal and there is no harm to kids. You get more radiation from spending the whole day outside than 4 x rays, but those x rays can your your kid's teeth.

Re: Pediatric Dentist and X-Rays Question
We were told by our ped dentist they do not do xrays unless they see something suspicious. I agree with that concept and would not go to a ped dentist that did them routinely.
