Tusker House or Chef Mickeys? UPDATE

We're going to Disney at the end of the month and I was wondering which one was better?

I was just able to get a breakfast reservation (actually - there were a lot of openings) at Chef Mickeys for our upcoming trip. I already had one at Tusker House.

I was wondering which one was better - I liked the idea of Tusker House since it was inside the park so we'd be in the park before it opened but, I've heard a lot of good things about Chef Mickeys as well.

Update: we had breakfast at Tusker House today and it was fabulous! DS was so excited to meet Donald and when Mickey came in.

I vote Tusker! Food is more interesting, it's inside the park, and it's not as noisy as Chef Mickey's.

I agree with Jennifer. We went last December and went to both places. Food was definitely more interesting at Tusker House.

We're also doing a breakfast at Hollywood and Vine as well (since DS is obsessed with Manny, Jake and Oso) so we already have a breakfast with basic food choices.

I vote Chef Mickeys. You have ALL the classic characters and most importantly for us, Minnie.

we went before the parked opened..and were finished by rope drop - walked right on to safari and all the animals were out and about - and i am told are not as much later on in the day!

the food was great ..the atmosphere was awesome...the kids loved the audience participation parade and it had all of the "Fab 6" minus Minnie...that comes around to all the tables to "talk" to the kids and take pics...BUT Daisy is not as Chef mickey and is as Tusker..so i figured it was much easier to get a photo op with minnie else where than daisy...so that is why we chose Tusker (and we found minnie an hour later in AK )

We just ate at Tusker house a few weeks ago- they had goofy, mickey, daisy & donald... out of all of the character meals we went to that week, it was one of my favorites because the characters came around so many times. When we were at hollywood & vine and Akershus, we were up getting food and some of the characters came over to our table (where my in laws were still sitting) and we missed them. I had to ask for them to come back... at Tusker, they walked around so many times and they made sure that each character came to each table, and even asked to double check! Daisy and Goofy even came back a second time and sat down at our table to eat with us! THe kids loved the interaction there the most!

Thanks everyone! I decided to stick with Tusker House. I don't think DS has a preference between Daisy and Minnie and I like the idea of being in the park before rope drop.

Cjb - thanks for the heads up about Hollywood and Vine. I will make sure we go in shifts and leave DS at the table - since he doesnt eat much anyway - so he doesn't miss anyone. He's obsessed this week with ISO, last week it was Manny, and the week before Jake.
