Recent Winthrop Births - Did you get your own room?
I think it was in June sometime that they added additional rooms for maternity and stopped allowing you to pay for a private room.
How has this been working out? Has everyone been getting their own room for the whole stay?
In my opinion, having a roomate even for one day doesn't count as having a private room. I would much prefer to pay for one of the few single rooms they have. It's important to me because DH wants to stay at the hospital.

Recent Winthrop Births - Did you get your own room?
I just delivered there Wednesday and was discharged on Saturday. All L&D rooms are private. The maternity floor (2nd floor) is basically made up of the single and double rooms. Everyone gets a single room, however if there are a lot of births you can be doubled up. I ended up getting a roommate my last night. If I had a natural birth I never would have had to double up. The person didn't show up to my room until almost 10pm anyway so she didn't have visitors and she kept the baby in the nursery for the night. They haven't done private paid rooms for awhile.
