Winthrop private room?
How do I go booking a private room? And how much is it per night?

Re: Winthrop private room?
I am wondering this too. With DS I paid for a private room, but now I heard they are all private rooms. I hope so! When I checked in to L&D I requested a private room. I think my total bill was $540 after insurance.

Re: Winthrop private room?
Just delivered there last month....Ask them as soon as you sign in. Not all of the rooms are private. What they try and do is keep all rooms single until they need to start doubling up. When I gave birth I had the room to myself the 1st night. The 2nd night I had a roommate. My room was one of the last to double up.
I think it's $220 a night.

Re: Winthrop private room?
You have to ask when you get there and keep asking. They don't really book them, you just kinda get lucky.
I had a private room with DS and I didn't have to pay. If they don't have a lot of patients, you can get one without paying. C-Section patients get priority from what I have heard.

Re: Winthrop private room?
Just telll them when you are admitted. We got a private room with ava and it was no problem at all. They send you the bill a few weeks later. For 4 nights after a c/s and 2 nights of a failed induction it was money well spent

Ask them when you sign in and then ask them 5 more times!
They only have 4 or 5 from what I remember so it's first come first serve.

Re: Winthrop private room?
To get a private room at winthrop, you can not book in advance. When you get to L&D, once they determine you are going to be admitted, you ask then and they will possible send your husband to admitting to verify there. It is first come, first serve, so if there is one available they will hold it for you. They are trying to keep all rooms in Winthrop private but there is no guarantee. If it is busy, they will double you up unless you are paying for the private room.

Re: Winthrop private room?
there's only a handful or so of private rooms...I don't know how/why people keep saying they are all private now. I delivered in June...it was a busy month. I was willing to pay but none were available so I had to share both nights. Until Winthrop undergoes some sort of construction/makeover...rooms are not private unless you get lucky (by luck I mean willing to pay for one and there is one available...they get taken up and there aren't many).

Re: Winthrop private room?
ask as soon as you walk in the door to register. they will put you on a list! $220 EXTRA, per night (but SO worth it, especially if you have a C)
