how would you take this...

Im sitting crying (not hysterical or anything, just releasing some tears) while Im feeding my 4 month old

DH asks whats wrong....

I tell him its just been a really long hard week and I just dont know what to do anymore or what Im doing wrong....(my 3yr old DD has been testing me!)

His reply was....

"I think you just expect too much from her"

..............
so how would you take that

I'd tell him he expects too much of me if he thinks saying that to me while I'm crying and having a tough moment will be helpful in any way.

Feel better-it's tough but it passes. If you feel like this often, talk to you doctor about possible PPD-at 4 months it can still hit you.

you WILL get through this! its hard, i cannot imagine having a child already and then having a new baby to take care of.

I would be piiiiiiiisssssed that he picked that moment to say that, but I would also probably think on it later on and wonder whether or not he was right and I just wasn't seeing it.

I would take that as your typical stupid response from a clueless DH. Chat Icon They just don't get it sometimes.Chat Icon

Totally agree, except in our case, DH & I are reverse. I think he expects wayyyy to much out of DD.

You are all right! Yes I probably do expect more from dd (but at times so does dh) but some of what she's been doing lately has nothing to do with expectations...I think shes just really testing the grounds, acting out a little and oh yea being 3

Im glad I chose to just stay quite....the whole time thinking...That I think everyone expects too much of me

and yes clueless DH who I hope he realized that instead of giving me a hug and telling me something positive he really just put salt on my wounds.

As far as PPD....I thought about that a few times but I think I have better day the bad and I feel more angry then sad...then I get sad for getting so angry...IDK I think its just normal stress of a rough time
DH works 12 hr day 6 days a week, we moved out of state so I have no family to help out and I think its effecting all of us (including dd which is probably why shes acting out so much)

So in the end Im glad I stayed quite and avoided an arguement with him and after venting on here I do feel more guilty for being so hard on dd and yet I feel better at the same time
