Disney's Animal Kingdom
Can someone tell me which accomodations at Disney's animal Kingdom are better Jambo House or Kidani Village? What are the differences between the two? I know Kidani is newer...Thanks!

Are you looking at Villas? Jambo house is regular rooms and villas and Kadini is all villas. You can either book the DVC/villas rooms through disney or rent points. Jambo house though is the regular "resort" portion that they added villas to but kadini was built to just house their dvc/villas.

Oh, ok. We belong to DVC, so yes, we're looking at villas. Thanks!

We went to visit and check out AKL when we were there in may. Jambo house is the hotel portion that has some villa rooms. Jambo has more food options since most of the rooms don't have kitchens. Kidani one bedrooms have two bathrooms. I don't think kidani has any counter service options. Jambo house does. However when you stay at one you can use all of the amenities of the other.

This is what I have heard from friends who stayed in both.
Kadini has a water play area and Jambo just has the pool and playground. The only restaurant at Kadini is Saana, which is a TS place. I could be wrong but I think my friend said shecould order a very limited sandwich menu at the pool bar but had to go to jambo house to go to mara for counter service. The walk between both is a little long. The buses stop 1st at kadini then go to jambo house before heading to the parks. I'm on my nook so I can't look it up but if you google AKL unofficial site there is a website that lays out the hotel nicely and talk about the two buildings and their differences.
We haven't stayed at the villas but the AKL is a great unique hotel!

Re: Disney's Animal Kingdom
For me it would come down to whether you want to be in the more relaxing setting (Kidani) but have to travel for the main lobby, etc, or whether you like to be in the middle of the action (Jambo)

This is the building I would say is nicer to since it has more amenities. But I'm curious - do you still agree with the water play area at Kadini with kids? Is it worth looking at that building just for that? Or is the water area not that significant to make any difference.

If you stay at Kidani you can use the Jambo facilities but it's not reciprocal. I just don't think the play area at Kidani, though amazing, is worth it. We don't spend enough time in the pool to make that matter.
Now, if I had a 9-night stay and we were going to enjoy lots of downtime, then it might be more likely but I think I'd still Jambo.

Me too! We have stayed at and love both, but I prefer Jambo.
