HELP! Best gift for a newly expecting mom.
My bestie just found out that she is PG and I want to send her something-can you reccomend something that you would have liked/needed in your first tri? Like maybe a good book, some type of tea or really anything you think she would like or need?

just keep in mind flowers might really bother her senses if she's newly pregnant. i couldnt even look at flowers let alone smell them for about 15 weeks.
i agree with the snoogle idea or a basket of cute pregnancy stuff, including stretch mark cream, a pregnancy book, a funny pregnancy movie, sparkling cider and glasses, some sort of pampering lotions...

Maternity clothes are expensive, maybe a gift cert to a store so she can shop when the time comes.
And I agree about the book Belly Laughs. Its great.

i woud prefer a GC to destination maternity....or a gc to nail place or hair place so she can get pampered. i also loved mamma mio belly products...they are $$$$ but so worth it

Sleep! Okay,maybe you can't buy that lol, but a nice massage or pampering type GC would be great. Also, if it is her first and she will eventually need maternity, a GC to stores that sell maternity would be deeply appreciated.

The bella band is also a nice item to help early in the pregnancy.
I like the burts bees mama's bee lotion. And I just got a little foot massager roller that sits on the floor. You just rub your foot on it and it feels so great.
I would agree with the gift cert for clothes - they really do add up quickly!

I settled on sending her a "Pregnancy Essentials" kit from MamaMio in the mail today, and am going to make her a nice basket with that book, a few Bella bands, a GC and two glasses and sparkling cider when I go visit her next month. Great ideas ladies! I knew that you all would know what happy pregos want! Thanks a million!

this! and make sure the place has a pregnancy table with a hole in it - it is such a luxury just to lay on your stomach in your last trimester!
Also love the Jenny McCarthy book, and also "Sippy Cups are not for Chardonnay" - can't remember the author.
