I would like to know the answer to this one also. When people know I go to the doctor they ask me if I know how much the baby weighs. I thought they weighed the baby towards the end.

but i have my first growth sono in 2 weeks so i would assume def then

I think w/twins, it's different. So far I've had 20, 27, & 31 wk weights.
Last one was 3.13 & 4 lb even!
How many wks are you?

At my growth sono (36 weeks) my doctor measured the head & chest and then gave me estimations of average weight based on this.
But I don't think I get another one. I would like to know if and how much he's growing at the end though!

When they're born, for me! No sonos after 20 weeks at my OB.

at growth sono....
with my son I had it at 32 weeks....
with the GD this time I' had 2 already and 3rd is coming up at 33 weeks

They gave me an estimate at my 24 week appointment and then a again yesterday at my 28 week appt.

With my growth sono at 20 weeks, growth sono at 32 weeks. And yesterday I had a 34 week appt. and they measured again.

i am currently 35w3d & haven't had one yet.. i was told i would get an estimate at my 36w appt when they do my first internal, but my OB does not do growth sonos unless they feel they are necessary ... booo i wanna see the baby again!! lol

They do growth sonos every other week (pretty much every appointment). I think they started when they were under a lb. they told me ounces. But every Dr. does things differently.

I had an amnio at Mt. Sinai the other day and was told s/he is 5 oz (I am 16 weeks). I had no idea that they could tell so early.

I just asked what she was measuring when I got sonos. They always measure so just ask if you're not being told.

Same for me, with my first. This time, they might be doing one more sono around 36-37 weeks to estimate weight.
