TTC and Ordering a Bridesmaid Dress
I'm going to be a bridesmaid in a wedding next July. The dress that the bride chose is being discontinued so we need to order them by next week. The woman from the salon said that the type of dress she picked will be easy to alter and the structure of the dress will be fine (if it needs to be taken in a lot). Obviously, I don't know where I will be in my ttc journey by then. I could be a few months or close to giving birth, have already had a baby, or not pregnant at all!!
My measurements for the dress put me in a size 6. She suggested that I order either a size 12 which will give me 3 1/2 extra inches in the bust and side area, or a size 14 which will give me 5 extra inches. I'm thinking of ordering a 12, but maybe I should go bigger and do the 14 since she said the structure of the dress will be fine. Opinions please!

Is it at a price point where you could somehow order two sizes?

I'd rather not, its almost $300 for one dress.

Re: TTC and Ordering a Bridesmaid Dress
This was me...
Yes order the 14. I was 6.5months pregnant in my friends wedding and order a larger dress. I thought there was no way I'd fit into it because it looked HUGE. To my surprise the dress didn't fit it was too SMALL I had to order extra material and have a tailor reconstruct the dress. It was horrible!!!
Definitely order larger. It'll be easier to get it taken in then to get it taken out.

Re: TTC and Ordering a Bridesmaid Dress
i ordered a bm dress for my sisters wedding when i was 19 weeks pregnant with twins
i went crazy and ordered it too big and paid almost same amount in alterations as i did foe the dress
if u got pregnant this month i *think* u would be due in may...so u r in the later stages
since u know u cannot order another or order it later since they r discontinued i would agree with the lady and order double the size and maybe even the 14
better safe than sorry

Re: TTC and Ordering a Bridesmaid Dress
I'll give another spin on things......I ordered a dress Wayyy to big bc I thought for sure I would be pregnant , I wasn't when the time came and it really added salt to my wounds. I was in another wedding since and I just got a touch bigger then I would normally, I would rather deal with that hassle of adding fabric for A good reason then size way down bc I am still not pregnant.
In the first case I was "lucky" and another bridesmaid was pregnant and her dress was too small, but fit me, so we were able to trade. If not, that particular dress would have been way off after being taken in so many sizes.
