Anyone else feel this way?

I am 15w along and it took us a long time to get our BFP.
Once we did, we had so many early scares that I was numb to everything. I didn't want to believe i was pregnant and i had this awful feeling in the pit of my stomach every time i had to go in for a sonogram appt.

My last sono was at 12w for the NT Scan and I've been a mess since then.
I haven't gained any weight and I still look the same as I did 3 months ago.
I still have some of the same pregnancy symptoms i've been having...

I guess i just want to know if anyone else feels the same in between appointments. DH keeps trying to reassure me that the LO is fine...but its just hard to believe when there is no outward evidence that I am even pregnant yet...

Re: Anyone else feel this way?

My first time I wasn't...this time I am a wreck! I am 9 weeks and I don't think I have let myself get excited yet. I get sooo nervous before every appt. I feel like that this baby came so easily (we weren't trying) that it can be taken from me so easily tooChat Icon

I wish I had better advice. My first pregnancy (with the help of an RE) I only let myself think positive good thoughts! Saying I deserve this after waiting for a while!

Yes I understand how you feel Chat Icon Chat Icon

At 15 weeks I was finally getting over my MS; but not showing yet or anything (just a little weight gain/bloat). It helped calm my nerves once I started feeling flutters (around 15-16 weeks) I might have felt them on the early side; but they were defintiely flutters because at 19w2d I'm feeling them a lot but more frequent/obvious.

Hang in there; you should be due for your 16 week OB appointment soon right? You'll get to hear the heart beat again then. I haven't seen LO since the NT scan; but I've heard the HB twice since (12 week which i had actually at 13 & 16 week appointments). My A/S is this week and i have my 20 week appointment next week. I look forward to the doctors appointments inbetween the U/S to make sure everything with LO is ok.

Re: Anyone else feel this way?

Yes - that was me! Not with my first but with this one. I sobbed at the 12-week sono because I think I just didn't believe everything could really be okay.

i have my 16w sono is next week and they will hopefully be able to tell me the gender then if LO cooperates...I haven't had any appointments in between where it would have been able to calm me down some..

YES! I practically make myself ill between appointments and then while waiting for the sono, I get so anxious that I start to have a panic attack.

Re: Anyone else feel this way?

You could have taken the words right out of my mouth! My Dr. has me come in every 2 weeks for a sono and that STILL isnt enought for me! I hate waiting in between appointments, I'm always scared that in that short amount of time that something bad has happened. I'm hoping that my anxiety gets better soon, I dont know how much more I can take!

Re: Anyone else feel this way?

Yes! This is me! A little background on me- I've had 2 miscarriages and have a 5 year old DD. I had 1 miscarriage before DD, and 1 afer.

This pregnancy was rough for me early on. I spotted until I was about 16 weeks. Everytime I would see the spotting, I would totally think the pregnancy was over- just based on previous experiences- but this baby wants to be here! Because of this- I feel like I've been waiting for the other shoe to drop for the entire pregnancy. I never though I would make it out of my 1st trimester, then I thought I wouldn't make it to my Level 2, then I thought I wouldn't make it to 28 weeks, but here I am, 37 weeks preggo. I still feel like anything could go wrong- and I was not like this when I was pregnant with my DD (I had a textbook perfect pregnancy with her until the end when I developed pre-eclampsia.)

Hang in there. I know its not easy. HUGS!

Re: Anyone else feel this way?

I feel the EXACT same way! Last night I said to DH that I don't feel pregnant and I'm afraid something happened.

I was told I was having a miscarriage at 4-5 weeks after it took us 16 months to conceive. I was devastated. Then, it turned out to be a viable pregnancy. I was super nervous before my next sono to see the heartbeat (only 2 weeks later). I wouldn't even let DH say pregnant or anything because I was afraid he would jinx it. After we saw a heartbeat there, I was better, but still nervous. I had to go back a week later because the heartbeat was too small to measure. I was a wreck in that one week. Then we had another good sono with a strong heartbeat. Still a wreck. We went for NT scan and I was expecting something to go wrong, but it didn't. Between 12 & 16 weeks was the worst for me, but I felt sick, so it made me a little better. At 16 weeks I heard the heartbeat again and went for a gender determination at a 3d imaging place. That was 1 week ago. I'm going back for another sono because they didn't get enough pictures and I'm STILL nervous (one week later) that something is going wrong. (WOW THAT WAS LONG!)

I think it's very normal to worry and even more normal when it took a long time to conceive! Chat Icon Hang in there!

Re: Anyone else feel this way?

I'm 29 weeks and at my last sono at 26 weeks I went there with this sinking feeling still in my stomach. I was a basket case until it was all done. And even after wards, I get feelings all the time, the only thing that keeps my looking foward is feeling movement.

Pretty soon you should start to feel movement and hopefully be a little less stressed out over it. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I think it's natural to feel that way early on since you may not feel or look that different...but when you are feeling your LO ALLLLLL the time you will definitely know you are pregnant! Soon!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Anyone else feel this way?

So normal and unfortunetly comes with the territory of IF

This is our 4th pregnancy and I still pray every night that this time we get to take our babies home

Before u know it u will have the belly, and the backaches and all the other stuff

I have had ms and issues every pregnancy no matter how they turned out so I know it is hard but imo pulking on the bowl 24 7 is not the number one indicator of a healthy pregnancy

I peed on sticks for so so many weeks more than I will admit bc u will think I am nuts lol

We had had our issues like ruptured placentas and subchronic hemotomas etc but nothing came easy this time so why start now lol

I do not live in fear but I worry every day, waiting for the other shoe to drop but that is what happens when u have been through the ringer

All u can do is enjoy, hope and pray

IF robbed me of so much, my faith, friends, happiness in general, hope so much money and most of my blood lol

I made a promise to myself when we get the one that looks like it will stick I will not let it take away every thing I prayed for and cried myself to sleep over

Pure joy and gratitude that we might finally get our babies...so I won't let it

It took too much already...we deserve to be happy and so do you!

Best of luck!!!!!

Re: Anyone else feel this way?

I'm right there with 'ya...and it's totally normal! I'm 15w, too and haven't see LO since 12w. I had spotting in the beginning, too, and panicked, but the baby was always just fine! I haven't gained weight either...in fact, I've lost 5 pounds. And I'm not showing. Though, subtly, my body shape is changing and my stomach is becoming rounder...though not pregnant looking yet.

It's completely normal to feel this way in between appts but I know that soon enough I'll be feeling LO and showing. I'm just trying to enjoy being pg and not analyze things too much. I feel like if something were wrong, my body would be showing me some signs...and since it's not, I'm just trying to relax until next week. I hope you can do he same. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I am currently 16 weeks, and I usually am fine for about a week after the sono and then I start second guessing that I am even pregnant. I rented a fetal doppler, which helps! (Although it seems I could have bought one off ebay for the same amount of money)

Anyone else feel this way?

I still feel this way and I'm 23 weeks. I'm holding it together, but im a wreck before each appt. Last sono, I was shaking so badly, I was afraid they werent going to be able to see anything, I just couldn't sit still. Even though I'm getting kicked everyday, Im still nervous as hell. I think it just comes with the territory when you've had issues/complications, unfortunately. Hang in there, you are certainly not alone!

I also bought a Doppler to keep my sanity. It was $59 and while I rarely used it, when I had those terrible nagging moments it was my best friend.

ita! i'm 24 weeks and still get so nervous (ive had 2 previous m/c's). I would literally be sick to my stomach in between appointments, especially in the beginning; always dreading the worst. FH was so good at reassuring me, but i couldnt calm down. Now that I feel movement all the time, i am a little more at ease, but still a worrier

I felt that way until I could start feeling movement. Even now at 38+3 I'm not going to be 100% calm until I have him in my arms!!

I was like that!! Plus I didn't show at all until after 5 months and I never had a pregnancy symptom so every time I had a doctor appointment, I held my breath. Now I am 39+ weeks and having a c-section today. I know it's hard not to stress, but try to stay as calm and positive as you can!!
