I feel so old and exhausted. Do all moms feel this way or is it because I am actually old?

I'm 31 (had DS when I was 30).

I can't help but think that I would have much more energy if I was younger. I used to be able to pull all nighters for school AND party all night on the weekends with no problems whatsoever.

Now I'm exhausted everyday. I have no energy. I'm just beat all the time.

I'm with you 100%. I gave birth in June and I just turned 32.

I often think instead of pulling all nighters at the clubs I could have easily done it with a baby.

LOL - old at 31!

I'm 41 and just had my first ... getting up at 4:30AM in order to nurse & pump before commuting to the city is what is exhausting me!

I think my age def plays a big factor. I remember staying out until 2 or 3 am and going to work the next day-on time. This was when I was like 24 or 25. So I think if I had DD back then it would have been a little easier.

I was 35 when DD was born and I definitely think I would have had more energy if I was younger. But it's DH's fault for waiting 4 years to propose. What really helped with me is eating right & taking my vitamins. I also tried to recharge myself every once in awhile with some "me time." Having a Dh that traveled for work almost every week M-Th made this pretty difficult, but it did help when I could just get out for a couple of hours every once in awhile.

First: you're not old! Because if you are, then I may as well sign up for the nursing home right now.

You know how some people are morning people and some are night? I used to tell my DH back before kids that I was both...I could be up super-early and stay up super-late...no problem. But as he reminded me...I took like a three-hour nap every day after work. Needless to say, naptime does not exist in my life anymore and as result, I'm practically dead asleep on the couch at 9pm. Damn kids.

I must be ready for the Senior Living facility, I am almost 38 and have an 8 year old and a 17 month old. Honestly, I am not as tired as I thought I would be, being this old and shriveled up

I'm 35 with a 2.5 year old. But I have a demanding full time job, a part time weekend job in EI, and another part time job as a Zumba instructor. I'm beginning to think my age isn't really the reason for my exhaustion!

I FEEL old. I don't necessarily think I'm old. My fellow 31 yr old friends who are single seem to be having the time of their lives. They still go out a lot.

I, on the other hand, can't seem to get rejuvenated ever. I'm just always tired.

Ok - FIRST of all STFU b/c if you're old, I'M old ......and I AM NOT OLD !!! (i'll be 31 in Dec)

I definitely have less energy these days -No one tells you how exhausting it is to be at someones constant beck and call !!!
I don't think it's b/c I'm 'older.' - I just think it's a different kind of stress and responsibility - NOTHING like work, or school or anything else I've ever had to take responsibility for KWIM ??

LOL. i am 31 and feel the same way!!! to be fair i do have twins and two part time jobs but my body is betraying me. i am thin but not in shape and am so tried all the time!!!

i got married at 22 and only recently had my boys and now i kept thinking wow why did i wait 8 years to have babies!!!

I had DS at 31 and feel the same way!!!!

My mom had her first child at 20 and she had me (the 4th child) when she was 30. She said to the dr "I know this one is faster because I just can't keep up"

He responded "she isn't faster, you're just older"



My mom reminded me of this as I didn't have have children in my 20s.

I was never able to pull all nighters. I got mono when I tried!!!!! I envy people who were ever able to do it! Kids take a lot of energy but if you remain in generally good health then you will get through.

Make sure you take vitamins! I used to never take them before getting pregnant. Now I make sure to take them everyday. What a difference! One time I skipped a week or so by accident and I felt exhausted that week...could barely keep my eyes open.

old you are not old.....if you are old I am super old...I am 38! Maybe take a vitamin (I have an amazing customized vitamin if your interested FM me)

Okay, first all of you ladies in your early 30s are not old. Seriously, you are not. I don't even think of myself as old and I am a 42 year old SAHM, chasing after an active 21 month old.

It was interesting to read these posts though--I have had moments when I have thought "It probably would have been much easier if I had him in my early 30s", but it seems it doesn't matter--I would have been exhausted either way!

As far as vitamins, I have gone through spurts where I've taken them religiously and spurts where I have not. I cannot tell any difference. But I DO notice a big difference if I get little exercise and eat poorly. So I think these things help tremendously. Just some advice from one old, old lady to some other old ladies.

Sorry to burst everyones bubbles, but I am 22 and DH is 26, and we are tired!!

I used to stay out and party with him all the time, but having a baby is soo much more tiring! But I guess after partying some of the days I would sleep for like 12 hours. And that's not going to happen ever again now that I have DS, a house to clean, and dinner to cook

So I don't think its age, its keeping up with these little guys
